Coach Adib was a really happy coach yesterday and proud of how our U14 Panthers started the season.

“What an amazing game and great start of the season.

U14 Panthers Vs Ramsbottom 5-4

We start the game looking for the win and after 10 minutes Elvis made it 1-0 for us, then 8 minutes later with great effort from Elvis following a pass from the keeper he gave the ball to Harley to score to make it 2-0.

Elvis again at 30 minutes made it 3-0, and before the end of first half Ramsbottom scored their first goal.

In the second half Ramsbottom tried their best and made it 4-4. Then we ended with a penalty and Darliton made it 5-4 for Panthers.

Great work and effort from all the boys.
Am proud of all boys they were amazing fighting for the ball and never put their heads down even when drawing.

Our U14 Jaguars were away to Littleborough yesterday and their first game of the season didn’t go as well as they hoped it would but Coaches Ben and Neil know they will keep on improving.

“Littleborough 5-1 U14 Jaguars. Tough start the season for the Jaguars this morning. We had periods of good play and could have scored more, but in fairness we were second best throughout. We went 1-0 down after 10 minutes but came back in to the game well, Lucas B denied with a great save from the Littleborough keeper. Littleborough made it 2-0 just before half time, again we came back well in the second half but couldn’t put our chances away. Littleborough increased their lead until Josh W scored a fine solo goal with almost the last kick of the game. Room for improvement lads and we’ll move on to next game.”

Our first game of the season ended in an 8–3 victory for the Eagles, and what a performance it was from the whole team! 👏🦅

Louis had an absolutely incredible game today — he was literally on fire! 🔥A fantastic performance and one that he 💯% earned. Well done, Louie! 👏
A special mention also has to go to Charlie, Noah and Joe today. With the sudden step down of our main goalkeeper, who has now relocated to Ireland with his family 🇮🇪, the lads stepped up and offered to take on the goalkeeper role.

That takes resilience, courage and selflessness, especially when stepping into a position that isn't your usual one. 🧤👏

It showed exactly what it means to be a team when one player is missing, others step up, support each other and face the challenge together. ❤️🦅

We are so proud of every single player today. The enthusiasm, teamwork and determination couldn't be faulted. The lads were constantly lifting each other up with encouragement, advice and support, and it was brilliant to watch.

This wasn't just a win on the scoreboard — it was a fantastic example of team spirit, resilience and togetherness. 💙

Also at home were our U12 Vipers who drew in their first game of the season. Coach Bruno was pleased with how the team stepped up.

“Milnrow Juniors Vipers u12 2-2 B Pro football coaching Sharks.

We had a very good first half, started strong, pressing and looking for the pass more often. We took the lead in the first half with a good goal from Ngufor. Unfortunately we lost focus and the opposition equalised just before half time.

In the second half we lost a bit of the energy of the first half although our boys created a few chances to score. Harlow gave us the lead again with a screamer but we started lacking fresh legs in defence and B Pro equalised again. Could've gone to either side after that, both teams had a few chances but the result didn't change.

The POM was Crispin but the team in general was pretty solid with many of our boys stepping up their game.”

Our U12 Sharks were also at home yesterday for their first game of the season and got a win against Santos Tigers. Coach Matt was really pleased with the how the team played.

“Well done u12 Sharks this morning kicking off the season with an excellent win and thats the first points on the board 👏

Brilliant opening 20 mins to the game, took the opening goal but conceded a couple to finish the first half 2-1. Second half the team pushed on, kept a clean sheet and scored a couple which gave us the 3-2 win.

Goals:
Adam ⚽️⚽️ - another 2, our new goal machine!… and both assisted by George.
Charlie ⚽️ - delighted he scored, unbelievable effort and energy today and well deserved. Assisted by Kose.

This might sound like a cop out but the whole team was excellent today - good football, worked hard, great attitude - so the whole team takes POTM.

Our U14 Sharks had a great start to the season with a win against Prestwich Marauders at home. That said, Coach Dave has said that there is a lot for them to build on from this performance.

“MJ Sharks 5 V 4 Prestwich.

George and Oliver were todays POM, George was great defensively all game and Oliver with I think 3 assists and a goal, he worked hard today too.

If I'm honest it wasn't a great performance from the Sharks today, I think some of the team had gone out this morning automatically thinking we would win or it would be easy, most of the the game we were actually 2nd best.

Having said that we got the all important win in the end. We started really well 2-0 up inside 10 mins but then it was mainly Prestwich after that.

Second half we started slow, we managed to get a couple of goals in front again then we switched off yet again and made mistakes. Another 5 mins and I think we may have ended up drawing that game.

I'm glad the team got off to a winning start against a team who finished mid table last season but if we want to challenge for the league then the team performances are going to need to improve a lot.

More happy coaches at Kingsway this morning as our U10s Eagles got their season started against Radcliffe Corals. Coach Damien had this to say 😊

“What a way to start the season against a team a year older and with us having not trained for a few weeks. We looked a completely different team to the one that ended last year - we controlled the game for the most part and everyone was working for each other. We were unlucky not to score early on when Praise was through on goal but hit the post. Our first goal came from Billy after a brilliant counter attack starting with Sam kicking it half way up the pitch to Oscar who then ran up to the edge of the box and when it looked like he was going to take a shot he squared it to Billy who was in tons of space and slotted the ball home neatly in the bottom corner.

Radcliffe soon equalised after a mistake in defence meaning we ended the half drawing.

After quick word we came out in the second half and played out of our skins. Quick goals from Corey and Praise put the game out of reach as we counter acted everything. A fantastic last ditch challenge by Oscar in the dying seconds of the game stopped Radcliffe from scoring.”

Our U9 Eagles started their new season off against Whitworth Valley. Although the result didn’t go our way, it sounds as though it was a close game. Coach Matt felt the result could have been different on another day.

“Very unlucky result today for our boys first game. They played really well, passing the ball about and moving up and down together on the pitch. Unfortunately a couple of switched off moments resulted in Whitworth taking advantage and scoring.

We continued to press them throughout the game and their keeper made some great saves.

We really pushed hard in the last 10 minutes and scored some great goals.

We were unlucky today and on another day we could have won that game.

Our POM was Jacob, Starting the season as he finished making save after save. Pushing himself harder and stronger.”

Our U8 Eagles were at home this morning in their first game of the season and Coach Matt is another happy coach.

“The mighty Eagles started the season against Chadderton Park Cobras who are a very physical team. However when we had the ball in our possession we were hard to beat. We dominated possession and there wasnt a player on the team that didnt put the work in - just showing that all our work pre season has paid off. I couldn't be happier.

Goal scorers today were Captain Fearne with an absolute screamer and Mattéo with his unreal tricky feet.

Mattéo was man of the match - he had an amazing game.

Our U8 Sharks started their first full season this morning and got off to a great start.

Coach Lee is really proud of them all and couldn’t be happier with how they played.

“We drew in our first game and I’m super proud of the team. They all played brilliantly and it was a great game to watch and be a part of.

Toby scored a few and Benji got his first ever goal for the team and earned player of the match. A big shout out to Ronnie who was our first ever full game goalkeeper - we have changed it up this year to have 1 player in net for the whole game so every player will be in net 1 week in 8. He was amazing. It’s great to be back watching them.”
