This is what rounders is all about. A great game with great people!!

Pictures of Heywood and Mayfield before the game last week and a joint picture of Newtown and Phoenix celebrating at the end of theirs. Crown and Shuttle at the Cazza Cup at the beginning of the month! And then Mayfield getting the win and celebrating 🥳

Here it is the update of 3rd division.

Last Thursday we had Heywood Vs Mayfield in a deciding game of who will be 1st and 2nd!!

Heywood to bat first and some mega hits made to get things going. Superb triangle from Mayfield doing what they can to keep them at bay but Rhiannon bags herself 2 rounders and then Katie, Izzy, Kelly and Becky follow suit with 1 each!! Mayfield working hard out deep Shauna using her mega deep arm to get the ball back in to get a few out on 4th and stop some at 3rd. Charleigh with great bowling and Niamh and Jo on form as backstop and 1st base. Ali with an amazing catch as inner as well. A total of 6 rounders scored for Heywood and a great lead to start off an epic game. Mayfields turn to bring some heat at batting and Heywood to show off their fielding skills. Kat as bowler tonight doing an amazing job and Kelly and Karla at backstop and 1st base. Rhiannon using her deep arm along with Katie and Izzy. They are being put to work as lefties Jo and Charleigh swing left. Charleigh with a cracking hit right on the line gets a rounder to get the ball rolling for Mayfield and Shauna and Liv follow closely behind her. Kelly with some amazing catches as backstop and pick ups to get them out on 1. We get down to 2 batters left due to Heywood epic triangle and mega fielding then Ali bags herself a rounder but unfortunately gets an injury and needs to be subbed. And what a sub it was Eysha rocks up bats and scores a rounder then Heywood manage to get side out. Score 6-5 in first innings.

Second innings and batting Heywood are giving their all Georgia gets some great hits but again is caught out by Liv. Mayfield have tightened the fielding and some amazing triangle work again from Charleigh, Jo and Niamh. Katie steps up and manages to get a rounder before side out. Go on Heywood 7 and still anyone's game. Tensions are starting to build as it all comes down to this last field and bat. Karla not letting anyone escape running from 1st base to 3rd to stop rounders and making sure to keep Mayfield at bay!! Charleigh manages to bag a half rounder due to a misfielding situation only 2 rounders needed to get a win for Mayfield. Heywood bagging themselves some amazing catches Georgia on fire and Katie backing her up when she nearly missed one, truly beautiful to watch!! Katie from Mayfield bags a rounder and the field is tense. Heywood stepping up more on fielding and getting them all out at 1st and 3rd base. Down to two batters again. What felt like a lifetime and then super sub Eysha steps up and bags a rounder and that gives Mayfield the win!!

Honestly was a truly amazing game to watch and to see so many turn up and support both teams was incredible. A fantastic finale to 3rd division indeed both teams played superb and should be really proud of themselves. MVP in this game went to Karla whose fielding was top notch and her batting on form.

That's a wrap now and the end of the outdoor season ⚾ bring on the presentation on September where we can all celebrate together 🥳🎉

Last night we saw the very last games of the season for the league!! There will be 2 posts for the matches last night so keep your eyes peeled for the updates!!

1st division we have Rochdalians Vs Saddleworth Bulldogs. Saddleworth bat first and Rochdalians are taking no prisoners on this last game and field mega for Saddleworth's big hits. Hannah is in true form running everywhere and getting them catches in and stopping rounders. Saddleworth manages to bag themselves a rounder to get them the game rolling before side out. Rochdalians step up to bat and triangle is on form for Saddleworth. Rochdalians manage to get some really good hits in and Saddleworth just falling short of catches and their big arms out deep wasn't enough as Rochdalians score 7 rounders!! Second innings and Saddleworth needs to bring it back to stay in the game but again Rochdalians on fire and not letting anything past them!! Saddleworth score another 2 rounders but Rochdalians take the win 7-3. MVP goes to Hannah from Rochdalians and Sarah from Saddleworth 🥳 a great last game for the season for these 2 fantastic teams!!

2nd division we have Phoenix Vs Newtown. Newtown take to batting first and they have their big hitters on full form!! They manage to get things going with 6 rounders scored in the first innings, phoenix fielding tight and some great triangle work and catches our deep to get the side out before anymore scored. Swap over and Phoenix and are feeling it as well as they score 4 rounders and Newtown fielding is on point great like for like this game with these 2 teams. Second innings and Phoenix are ready for what's coming their way from Newtown and keep fielding tighter and ready to get them out. More great fielding and batting as Newtown score 4 giving them a total of 10. Swap over for one last time and Newtown retaliate with tighter fielding being ready for the big hitters from Phoenix and they manage to only let 1 past them before side out. Final score 10-5 to Newtown!! MVP goes to Laura from Newtown and Young Player to Daisy Leigh from Newtown 👏🏻

2 amazing games and keep your eyes peeled for the outcome of the other 2 matches. Pictures are Newtown Vs Phoenix in full force and coming together at the end celebrating the end of the season and also a big congratulations to Gill from Phoenix as she gets married tomorrow!! Tonight we have our very last games of the season!! We have a 1st division match, 2 for 2nd division and a 3rd division game. Why not come down and show some support?

Lots of fun and friendly matches to see, Rochdalians Vs Saddleworth Bulldogs. Rochdalians second in the division and Saddleworth after being promoted have managed to stay in the 1st division next year.

Crown and Shuttle Vs Tornadoes...can Tornadoes finish the season with a win in the bag? Come along and find out!! Phoenix Vs Newtown as well where if JFTC had lost Monday would have meant Phoenix had a chance tonight to tip that place from them!!

However out nail biting moment is happening on pitch 1. Mayfield Vs Heywood Harlequins. Both teams neck and neck on points and this match decides who will be 1st in the division and who will be second. Both teams started in the league the same year back in 2019. And both have come a long way!! This should be a game you don't want to miss!!

Another rewind. Go back to Tuesday. Heat is high and the players ready. Going backwards this time...

3rd division we have JFTC2 Vs Rakewood Knockers. Both teams played in pyjamas ...because they could 🤣. Knockers to bat first and some great hits made by all!! Connection was fantastic for Knockers scoring a lovely 4 rounders on total. Triangle for JFTC2 on fire and covering 2 like no tomorrow. Great arms out deep from Libby and Nat, Alisha as inner with great pick ups and Charlotte running round covering all that she can from 5th deep. Swap over and JFTC2 get their swings in some great hits even better fielding from Knockers and they are on form. 3.5 rounders scored for JFTC2 with great fielding and arms in from Knockers out deep.
Second innings and the daylight is fading...change up of triangle Nat backstop and Keiley goes inner for Alisha to go out deep. Knockers have a better grasp of Juliet's bowling now and bag themselves 7.5 rounders with 5 batters remaining and concede as the sun had gone to bed. Swap over and JFTC2 need to get them scores in to stay in the game. A few poorly legs and heads and subs come on, a massive shout out to Nicky who hasn't played for years and signed up to help out last minute. Made connections with the ball and even with a stumble towards first got supported by Knockers all the way to second base. Unfortunately some great hits but Knockers fielding was absolute fire on Tuesday and no rounders scored by JFTC2. Knockers win 11.5-3.5 refs said a lovely friendly game and a great bunch of ladies. MVP goes to Laurna from Knockers and Nicky from JFTC2 💪🏻 Young Player goes to Libby from JFTC2👏🏻 well done everyone on your last game of season.

2nd division we have Steelers Vs Commercial. A great game to end the season. Fantastic rounders scored from both teams by the looks of it. Commercial bat first and wow!! Even Emma's superb bowling from Steelers couldn't hold them off they made hit after hit and their fast legs help get them round. A total of 9 rounders smashed out by Smiler, Alana, Ash and Liv. Steelers fielding was top notch though with great deep arm throws in to get Chelsea out and side out eventually. Swap over and Commercials triangle is on point from Denners, Chelsea and Michelle as Steelers struggle to make connections and when they do it finds a fielder out deep Ash with her safe hands (did you find your belly bar whilst out there?). Unfortunately Steelers don't get a score this innings superb fielding from Commercial.
Second innings and Commercial straight back in to field and a mix up of bowling from Lil and Alana splitting it between them. Steelers straight in to bat ready to bring it back for them Betty and Tory step up and bag themselves some rounders giving the total to Steelers 3. A fantastic game from both sides and friendly. Refs got giddy and couldn't decide who to choose for MVP so Ash and Alana get it from Commercial and Debbie from Steelers 👌🏻 Young Player went to Laci from Steelers as well 🎉

1st division we have A Team Vs Milnrow. Milnrow bat first and die to A Teams great fielding manage to keep the score low for themselves. Milnrow bag 2 rounders and they were down in players so well done ladies. A Team kept fielding tight and controlled allowing them a good stance on batting to gain a lead. Stepping up to bat A Team are ready with some great hits and Milnrow fielding superbly as well. 3 rounders scored in total to A Team allowing them to take the lead this innings.
Second innings and Milnrow now have their eye on and ready for whatever comes their way. And away the ball went for them scoring 5.5 rounders. A Teams turn and young Nicole is on point as she perfectly places the ball and bags herself the only 2 rounders scored in this innings for A Team 😁. Milnrow takes the win 7.5-5 a really close game and some great hits and fielding by all. Another lovely last game for two awesome teams 🥳 MVP goes to Sarah from Milnrow and Young Player Nicole from A Team 👌🏻

Tuesday was a long night and warm!! No games wednesday but hope you all managed to see the eclipse in some way shape or form. Bring on tonight's games the final ones of the season 😭⚾

This week we have seen the last few games be played and what a last week it's been. For now let's rewind to Monday.....

1st division Lightning Vs Debs Divas. Debs to bat first and get the ball rolling with 2 rounders. Lightning keeping fielding tight and triangle tighter. Swap over and Debs get their arms out for catches and throws and Lightning and warmed up and ready scoring 4 rounders and taking the lead.
Second innings and Debs step up to regain the lead. And step up they did indeed. 7 rounders scored having Lightning running round the outfield and getting their arms in and finally side out. Lightning needed to bring it back to get a win on their final game and unfortunately only 4 scored giving Debs Divas the win on their last game 9-8 but a bloody close game in all!! Well done ladies great batting and fielding and a double whammy for Lightning as Tara gets MVP and Lilly gets Young Player 🥳

2nd division we have JFTC Vs Takeuchi. This game potentially decided the second place spot for JFTC so needed to bring their all. JFTC chose to bat first and Takeuchi mixed up fielding slightly but some great deep arm throws from Lauren and Cathy. Newbies out deep also have a great go for Takeuchi. JFTC manage to bag themselves 6.5 rounders. Swap over and a different triangle for JFTC also and Courtney does a belting job at bowling for them but them big hitters just keep coming. A great catch from G out deep and triangle work off Sami and Ash to get them out on 1st base. Takeuchi scored 3.5 rounders.
Second innings and JFTC still bringing the heat and score an additional 3 rounders. Takeuchi with some great triangle work and catches and Cathy being kept to work again. Swap over and what seemed to go on forever actually did....Cathy in for a rounder but Rachael gets her at 4th base (and immediately regretted it after asking Cathy to get one). Some great hits and catches out deep and in triangle, Takeuchi manage to score 3 rounders. JFTC take the win securing second place in the division 9.5-6.5 and MVP goes to the legend that is Cathy from Takeuchi 💪🏻

No 3rd division match but a friendly game between Mad Batters and All Rounders where people tried different positions and had a great time making sure they got a game before the season ended. Well done ladies and glad you all had fun!!

Thursdays games went ahead no bother again from rain. In fact the sun shone nicely!!

1st division we have Milnrow Vs Lightning. Lightning bat first and get things going nicely with a score of 6 rounders!! Great fielding by Milnrow and some great arms to get the ball in and batters out. Milnrow bat now and Lightning are on top form. Triangle not letting anyone past them, Milnrow with some great hits but Lightning have the catches ready and unfortunately Milnrow don't get a score the first innings.
Second innings and what a come back for Milnrow as they go straight in to bat again to see if they can match or beat Lightning. Some cracking hits the first innings was clearly a warm up as Milnrow bag themselves 5 rounders! Unfortunately not enough to get a win but a great way to keep the score close. Lightning win 6-5 and MVPs chosen are Tara from Lightning and Tasha from Milnrow 👌🏻

2nd division we have LCC Tornadoes Vs Phoenix. A really fun game for these 2 teams. Tornadoes bat first and Phoenix have a super triangle and tight fielding. Tornadoes get some really great hits in but Phoenix throwing the ball as fast and far as they were hit to them. Kate manages to bag herself a rounder before Phoenix gets side out. Phoenix turn to bat and some great hits and Tornadoes fielders out deep are kept on their toes, some great catches as well. Phoenix managed to score 2.5 rounders before Tornadoes for sode out.
Second innings and it's a close game, Tornadoes need 2 to stay in the game and more for a lead to get the win. Tornadoes eager now and pushing themselves, phoenix still keeping it tight and Sarah gets a cracking hit scoring a rounder for Tornadoes. Phoenix managed to get side out though meaning Phoenix take the win 2.5-2. another close game. Sarah from Tornadoes and Liz from Phoenix get MVP 💪🏻 and Callie gets Young Player 🥰

Across the way we have Newtown Vs Steelers. Steelers to bat first and some mega hits but even better fielding and Newtown only had 7 players but that never stops their mega arms throwing the ball in and stopping rounders. Unfortunately Steelers don't get a score in and Newtown takes to bat and Emma has her mean bowling arm in and Newtown struggle to get a hit in, some great hits made but great fielding from Steelers and no rounders scored for Newtown either. Neck and neck and anyone's game!!
Second innings and Steelers have got their eye on the ball now the first innings was just a warm up and Emma bags a rounder!! Wahoo!! I can hear the cheers and triumph 2 days later!! Another rounder from Steelers and side out leaving them with 2. Newtown are fully capable of matching or trumping Steelers here...but fielding tighter, Steelers hungry for a win and a win they get. Final score 2-0 to Steelers and both Daisy Leigh and Christine get MVP from Newtown (apparently Daisy Leigh is still youth 😉) 🎉

3rd division we have All Rounders Vs JFTC2. JFTC2 to bat first and Keiley steps up first bat first rounder!! Sue from All Rounders is holding back nothing on her bowling!! Great triangle work from Kandie and Jo as well!! Fielding kept busy as Liv gets her eye on the ball and Juliet. Charlotte manages to run so fast she scores half a rounder. All rounders manage to get side out eventually. Swap over and some cracking hits from All Rounders. Young Liv has really come along nicely great arm and fast legs, bags herself a rounder. Jackie on the verge herself some beautiful hits from all of All Rounders and Libby from JFTC2 kept busy out deep with some beautiful pick ups. Amelia gets a lovely catch as well. Another 2 rounders scored for All Rounders leaving them 3 in total.
Second innings and can JFTC2 bring it back. Some more great hits and even better fielding, a great catch from Kandie as backstop. The triangle has well and truly been on fire 🔥 unfortunately no rounders scored for JFTC2 in second innings making final score 3-1.5 to All Rounders. Jackie from All Rounders bags herself MVP along with Liv from JFTC2 💪🏻 and young player went to Amelia from JFTC2 and Liv from All Rounders👏🏻 a really good friendly game with lots of laughs and random screams..can you guess who by? All fun and laughter between these two teams.

Last night's games and the rain just about held off for most games.

1st division we see Enviroflame Vs Debs Divas. Debs Divas to bat first and Enviroflame have a tight triangle and great fielding. Debs get their eye on the ball though and manage to bag 5.5 rounders. Enviroflame to retaliate and retaliate they did!! Some big hits and Laura has her eye on the ball tonight. Debs fielding tightly though and using their mega arms to get the ball back in. Enviroflame scored 4 rounders in total keeping it anyone's game!!
Second innings and Debs back in to bat to keep a lead and score another 4 rounders before Enviroflame gets side out. Enviroflame needs 5.5 to match them and more to sn**ch the win. Debs ready for them this time and fielding has upped their game triangle on point and Enviroflame struggle to get round. One rounder scored meaning Debs Divas win total score 9.5-5. Laura from Enviroflame and Chelsea from DD bag joint MVP 💪🏻 and Thea from Enviroflame bags herself young player (truly a force for the future this one) ☺️

Across the field we have Saddleworth Bulldogs Vs A Team. A Team bat first and Saddleworth have their mighty triangle in place. A Team making great contact with the ball and start off the innings with 2 rounders scored. Swap over and A Team definitely brought their A game as Saddleworth get some hits in but not enough to get round as they don't manage to score.
Second innings and A Team have got used to the ball now and managed to add on additional 4 to their total, including a bump to the head for Tilly as Jess threw the ball from 2nd to 4th except it missed 4th and got Tilly (belting throw 👌🏻) 🤣. Swap over one last time and Saddleworth need to pull it out of the bag. They get their eye on the ball this time and a whopping 7 rounders scored with still 5 batters left in as well!! What a game changer!! Some mega hits and catches from both sides absolutely wonderful score and close game!! MVP goes to Hannah from Saddleworth 👏🏻

2nd division we had Commercial Vs Takeuchi Tigers. Commercial decide to bat first and Takeuchi have a new triangle...Emma took to bowling and did a very good job considering she doesn't bowl!! So well done Emma 👏🏻. A few no balls but two lovely teams having a laugh and enjoying the game regardless. Ashley from Commercial liked Emma's bowling as she smacks them left and Smiler and Chelsea follow suit after her. 6 rounders scored in total but not without conviction from Takeuchi as Cathy got her mega arm in out deep and Katie ran around like a headless chicken!! Takeuchi bat and Lauren gets some mega hits in to help get the score up. Denners from Commercial bowled beautifully and got a mega catch in the square! Chelsea on backstop and Michelle 1st base saw no prisoners. However out field we had a lost belly bar, and Lil's hands just weren't working for catches but good job Ash was there to back her up whilst looking for the belly bar 🤣. Takeuchi scored 3 rounders in total.
Second innings and Takeuchi now ready for the big hitters. Emma has picked up on bowling and is taking no prisoners (1st innings was a practice run 😉). Katie out deep is still running everywhere as Chelsea bags a hit right over her head and Cathy had to run (pretty sure onto next pitch) to retrieve the ball and a massive arm to throw it back in 💪🏻. Commercial on form this innings again and score an additional 5 rounders. Last chance for Takeuchi and Lauren has her mega arm in again and Emma follows suit as well this innings and another 3 rounders scored. A brilliant game, great fielding from both sides and mega hits from all. MVP goes to Lil from Commercial and Emma from Takeuchi 🎉

3rd division we Rakewood Knockers Vs Mad Batters. Another great game here and tight fielding from sides by the looks of the score in each innings. Knockers take to batting first and are swinging hard whilst Mad Batters field harder. Some great catches and deep arms in, and Knockers score 3 rounders. Mad Batters to bat and Knockers have a tight triangle and their deeps ready. Mad Batters getting some cracking hits in but only half a rounder scored for obstruction.
Second innings and Knockers are wanting a bigger lead but Mad Batters field tighter again and only 3.5 rounders scored for Knockers. Mad Batters need to bring it home now this innings for a chance of the win and this is their last game of the season and they have certainly put in a graft for it as well. After some big hits and great fielding Mad Batters score 1.5 rounders leaving Knockers victorious 6.5-2. Sophie from Knockers and Charlotte from Mad Batters get MVP 🥰

Some absolutely belting games tonight ladies. Wish I could watch them all (I really do) some amazing games, batting, fielding, catches, and laughter keep it up ⚾
