Great session with David this week working on a tendency to pull putts.

The miss pattern was consistent:
⬇️ Right-to-left putts missed low
⬅️ Straight putts missed left
⬆️ Left-to-right putts missed high

We identified strong right-eye dominance influencing his setup. His eyeline was tilted left, encouraging an out-to-in stroke path and causing a pull.

A few simple changes made a big difference:
✅ Adjusted pre-shot routine
✅ Added a line on the ball to help him set eyeline
✅ Feedback training with the Visio 2-piece mirror

No major swing thoughts, just better setup and better feedback during practice with the mirror.

Visio putting mirrors just got a whole lot smarter!

Loving the new ease of use on the new personalised mirrors which are custom fit specifically for my stroke. Really cool way to make sure we’re creating world class habits around setup and addressing the ball the same way every time.

We will be doing custom fits here for students at brocket hall, just let me know if you’re interested in taking your practice up a notch.

Saturday challenge .gentles had two attempts from 15 feet on a right to left 4% slope to take home hat. He took only one attempt.

Nice work, mate.

Part of a lesson clip with .

I’m constantly challenging the players to improve their make % from 5–10ft — but first, you need to know what it actually is.

Adi didn’t have a game or a test to measure his proficiency from this range, so we designed one:

• 5 random balls
• 5–10ft
• Random slopes
• Repeat 4 times
= Score out of 20 → convert to a make %

First attempt: 7/20 (35%)

We then added one small change to his pre-shot routine:
Walk halfway down the putt, stand sideways on, and feel the severity of the slope. He described it as “soft, medium, hard.”

Once he committed to that feel-based read, the results improved.

By the end of the session: 10/20 (50%)

Same green. Same player.
Better awareness. Better process.

When you practise with pressure and a score attached to it, you get reactions that mean something.

This young lad loves a challenge.

Targeting strategy & the 2/3 Rule

In this lesson recap, we discuss how a student improved their putting by testing different targeting strategies: a linear aim line vs a curved ball trajectory path.

For this player, the curved path helped them start the ball on the correct line more consistently. Whereas the linear aim line reference was causing them to push the ball up the slope on this right to left putt.

We also explored the 2/3 rule—a simple way to predict where the ball will start on the aim line vs how it will move down a curved ball path on planar putts (constant slope).

Getting set up for today’s supervised practice clinic for our winter programme students ⛳️
Multiple technical stations, green-reading work, and the best part… stepping straight out of the studio onto a real green to roll a few putts.
Love how seamlessly everything connects here — perfect for learning, testing, and enjoying the process.

2016 was a pretty cool year in hindsight.

Lots of lessons at BHSG Dubai, loads of talented juniors (all now taller than me 😅), plenty of black-and-white putting lessons , and even getting a backie home from work by — had forgotten that one. 😂

Also started learning from and back then. Still learning now. 🤫🤓

And seriously… what was I posting on Instagram in 2016?! 😂

Great fun looking back.
