MATCH REPORT - 15/07/21

WOODLESFORD UNITED 2 - 1 FARSLEY CELTIC FLEXI

The game started off well. Dominated possession, controlled the game and the ball very well, constant pressure on the Farley defence. A shot from distance deflected for a corner which was taken and put into a dangerous area and poked home by the farsley defender resulting in an own goal making it 1-0. Farsley get into our half for the first time in the game and put a cross in which gets deflected and ends up in the back of the net making it 1-1 with 5 minutes until half time. Second half begins and full effort from everyone. The second half begins the same as the first, high intensity and high press from Woodlesford which was kept up throughout. With 10 minutes to go Joe Turpin picked up a loose ball and ran through the midfield from his own half and shoots from the edge of the box and it goes in. Great 2-1 win from the lads.

MATCH REPORT - 10/06/21

WOODLESFORD UNITED FC 1 - 1 GARDENERS ARMS FC

We deserved the win today but we will take a draw. Started the game off with very few chances in the first half. A free kick won just inside of the Gardeners half. Joe Turpin takes the free kick, the keeper comes out and David Dean jumps up wins it and it falls to Joe Wheatley, who slots it in from within the 6 yard box, just before half time. The second half was end to end, with great saves from Tyler, including a free kick he tipped on to the post. With only 5 minutes to go, Gardeners had a free kick, which Tyler saved well and it fell to their CB who fired it in to an empty net. That draw puts us top of the league.

MATCH REPORT - 3/06/2021

Woodlesford United FC v Bradford City Flexi

A good 5-0 win on our debut against the claret and yellows, with Sam Mac scoring our first with an assist from Lewis Wood. Second goal was scored immediately after with Tom Newbitt bagging his first goal, assisted by Euan Kenney. Not long after, David Dean assisted Kyle Grocutt with a shot that lead to him hitting it with the outside of his foot and scoring, making it 3-0. Kyle then went on to score his second and third goal of the game, both assisted by Lewis Wood, increasing our lead to 5-0. A quality first game, played by everyone.
