It’s been a fantastic season for Lord Toad’s XI, and we’re looking forward to finishing it off with one last game of cricket. 💚

🏆 TOADS WIN THE SERIES 2–1! 🏆🐸

What a way to finish it! All three games went right down to the wire, with some excellent cricket played by both sides throughout the series. Plenty of big hits, wickets, dropped catches, wides and, most importantly, plenty of laughs along the way! 😂🏏

Last night’s decider was another belter.
🐸 Toads won the toss and elected to bat first. Some huge hits from Cheese and Tommo Curtis helped the Toads post a very competitive 173 from their 20 overs.

Ellingham came out swinging themselves and started finding the boundary regularly. As the evening got darker with every over, the game became more and more entertaining and the pressure really started to build.

Then came Eddy Pie with TWO sensational wickets to give the Toads a massive boost! 🔥🐸 In the end, the Toads held their nerve to take the decider and win the series 2–1! 🏆

A massive thank you to Ellingham & Ringwood for hosting us and for being absolute great sports throughout the whole series. Competition aside, it’s been a brilliant three games and exactly what these matches should be about.
Three games. Three thrillers. One series win. 🏆

🏆 STEVE BENSON CUP — GAME 2 RESULT 🏆

The Toads held their own and battled right to the very end, but unfortunately came up just 7 runs short. 🐸🏏

After bowling Ellingham & Ringwood all out in the 28th over, the Toads gave everything in the chase but couldn’t quite get over the line.

👏 Credit where it’s due to Ellingham & Ringwood, competition aside, their batters were excellent and showed real quality under pressure. They put together a fantastic performance to get their side over the line in a closely fought game.

With the series now level at 1–1, it’s all to play for in the decider! 🔥

A couple of last minute substitutions for the Toads, with TJ Park coming in for Dave Butcher and Ed Guy replacing Mark Bingham!

Competition aside Let’s not forget why we are here this series is about much more than cricket. ❤️

The Steve Benson Cup is played in memory of Steve Benson, bringing together friends, teammates and both clubs to remember and celebrate Steve’s life and the love he had for sport.

It’s a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy the cricket and honour Steve’s memory in the best way possible, doing what he loved. 🏏💚
