🏏 TEAM NEWS | MATCH DAY 🏏
Today Lord Toad's XI travel to take on Sixpenny Handley CC, with a 1:00pm start and another fantastic mix of players.

What makes today extra special is that we have THREE father and son combinations in the side:

💚 Lee & Louis Hudson
💚 Stu & Bertie Nazer

That's exactly what Lord Toad's XI is all about.
We're more than just a cricket team. We're a group of close friends, built around family, community and a shared love of the game. Seeing multiple generations taking the field together in the same side is something we're incredibly proud of and perfectly represents the spirit of the club.

📣 CALLING ALL TOADS! 🐸💚

On Sunday 26th July, we invite all past and present players, members, families, and friends to join us for Lord Toad's XI Memorial Day.
This special day is dedicated to remembering the Toads who are no longer with us but whose memories remain a huge part of our club. We will be unveiling our new Memorial Benches, creating a lasting tribute to those who helped make Lord Toad's XI what it is today.

🕐 1:00 PM – T20 Cricket Match
Teams made up of past and present Toads, young and old. The more Toads involved, the better!
🕓 4:00 PM – Memorial Bench Unveiling Ceremony
A moment to reflect, remember, and honour those we have lost.
🕟 4:30 PM – BBQ & Social Gathering
Food, drinks, good company, and the chance to share memories together.

🏏🐸 SERIES OVER... AND THE TOADS HAVE BEEN DEFEATED🐸🏏

Congratulations to Sporting Alfas CC on taking Game 3 and winning the series 2-1! 👏🏆
Another fantastic weekend of cricket, sunshine, beers, questionable batting decisions, and even more questionable umpiring opinions. 🍻☀️😂

A huge thank you to Sporting Alfas for once again being incredible hosts and brilliant opposition. The hospitality was first class as always, and while we'd love to blame the beer, the heat, the pitch, the ducks, and possibly the moon, the truth is Alfas were simply the better side when it mattered.

The Golden Duck race may be over, but not before Lee Hudson, Ed Guy, Ady Cooper and Will Jones proudly secured Ducks No. 4, 5, 6 & 7 for the Toads. A special achievement that will no doubt live forever in cricketing folklore... or at least until next year's tour. 🦆🤣

After two fantastic days of cricket, great company, sunshine and a few cold beers, it all comes down to one final match. The series is all square and there's everything to play for.

🏏🐸 TOAD OF THE MATCH 🐸🏏
A special performance deserves special recognition, and today's award goes to none other than Mark "CHEEEESE" Brockway!
With the Toads needing someone to stand up and lead from the front, Cheese delivered a superb innings of 64 runs, guiding Lord Toad's XI to victory in the opening match of the Albir Tour.

Calm under pressure, full of quality shots, and keeping the scoreboard moving when it mattered most, his knock laid the foundation for the Toads' first win of the series.

A special mention must also go to Charlie "Lunch" Heggan, whose brilliant 43 runs provided the perfect support act. The half-century was creeping ever closer, but it wasn't to be this time — no cigar, Lunch! Still, a vital contribution to the Toads' winning total and a knock that deserved far more than the scorebook alone can tell.

A fantastic start to the Albir Tour as Lord Toad's XI claim victory in the opening match against Sporting Alfas!

After months of anticipation, the Toads arrived in Spain and got straight down to business, producing a strong all-round performance to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.

✅ Series lead secured
✅ Team spirits high
✅ Cold beers earned 🍻

A huge thank you to our hosts at Sporting Alfas Cricket Club for a great game and excellent hospitality.
