YOU DON’T HAVE TO TRAIN WHEN YOU’RE ILL.

I’ve had an awful virus since Monday.

And as someone who genuinely loves training, I’ve had to accept that my body just hasn’t been ready for it.

So this week I haven’t lifted weights.
I haven’t done HIIT.
I haven’t tried to “push through”.

Instead, I’ve done gentle walks, stretching and some mobility when I felt up to it.

And today?

Today I actually feel like lifting again.

That’s the important bit.

I’m not going back to training because I feel guilty about missing sessions.

I’m going back because my body is starting to tell me it’s ready.

There’s a huge difference.

💚 Rest isn’t losing fitness.
💚 Taking a few days off isn’t going to undo your progress.
💚 You don’t need to punish yourself for being ill.
💚 Recovery is part of training.

Especially as we get older, learning to listen to your body becomes just as important as knowing how to train it.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is stop.

And when you’re ready, you start again — gradually.

So if you’re ill right now and feeling guilty about missing your workouts…

Give yourself permission to recover.

Your fitness will still be there when you come back. 💚

🐴 SAVE THE DATE — WALK FOR THE HORSES 🐴

Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th October 2026

One year ago, on 11th October, I was involved in a near-fatal riding accident when my horse was chased by a loose dog.

A year on, I want to turn what happened into something positive.

So, on 17th & 18th October, I’ll be walking across the New Forest over two days to raise awareness of the dangers loose dogs can pose to horses and riders, whilst also raising money for charity. ❤️

There will be different connection points along the route, where friends, family, clients, walkers and dog owners can join us for a section, stop for a coffee, cake or drink, and support the cause.

You don’t have to walk the whole thing, join us for as much or as little as you can! 🥾🐴

More details, the route and fundraising page coming soon.

📅 For now, SAVE THE DATES:
Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th October 2026

❤️ Walk for the Horses
One year on. One Forest. One important message.

Please feel free to share and get the dates in your diary! 🐴❤️

If you’re a woman over 40, I really want you to hear this… 👇🏼

Strength training isn’t about becoming bulky, lifting the heaviest weights in the gym or spending hours working out.

It’s about getting stronger, more confident and more capable in your body.

And as we get older, building and maintaining muscle becomes even more important for our bones, metabolism, balance, mobility and long-term health. 💪🏻

Your 40s aren’t the time to start doing less.

They’re the time to start training smarter. 🌿

Save this for your next workout and send it to a woman who needs to hear it. ❤️

My top 3 exercises for equestrians 🐴💪

Riding is a sport and your body needs to be strong, stable and balanced to support you in the saddle.

These are 3 of my go-to exercises for riders:

🐴 Dead bug – builds deep core control and stability
🐴 Split lunges – develops leg strength, balance and single-leg stability
🐴 Side plank with adductor – strengthens the core, hips and inner thighs

You don’t need hours in the gym. The right exercises, done consistently, can make a huge difference to how you move and feel in the saddle.

Save this and give them a try! 👌

Take a listen to this, be aware what you are eating and what we are feeding our children🙈

Split lunges. LOVE them or HATE them?

Either way, they’re a fantastic part of your training plan.

Working one leg at a time improves your balance and single leg strength, keeping your body strong, mobile and functional as you move into later life.

Want to try them? Comment “PLAN” and I’ll send you a move to add to your next session.
For this post, I’d go with:

Before the kids wake up, I sneak outside for even just 15 minutes. Nothing complicated, bodyweight, bands, whatever I’ve got, just enough to keep my body moving and my mind clear.

And sometimes movement sneaks into playtime too 😄 (see: me and Hugo having lilo races in the pool, that counts as cardio, right?)

This is what I mean when I talk about training fitting around real life, not the other way around. You don’t need a perfect setup or an hour spare. You need 15 minutes and the decision to show up for yourself.

📍 Swipe to see this morning’s incline press up session, small, simple, effective.
