Holiday Club at St Ives Sports and Art/crafts holiday club for 5-11 year olds. Based at St Ives School, Sandy Lane, Ringwood.

I’m gutted to say that I’ve just heard back from the school and due to substantial works planned for the summer they won’t be able to hire the buildings to us this year so sadly there won’t be a Holiday Club @ St Ives in summer 2024.

Anyone who’s children enjoyed Little Bear Woods at summer school this year, they have some special events on for Christmas - there’s nothing more magical than Christmas in the woods.

This year the man in red is back in the forest but he’s only got availability for two dates, so don’t miss out! 10th/17th December. We will be in high spirits throwing snowballs, riding sleighs and creating wonderful Christmas crafts to take home. The forest at Christmas is magical! We can’t wait to see you all there. Book here as tickets are flying out of the forest! We can’t wait to celebrate with you around the campfire with a mulled apple juice and minced pie.

I can’t believe it’s all over!! After 12 action packed fun filled days the classrooms have been handed back to the school, the playdoh put away and the parachute folded back up. I’d like to thank all the wonderful staff and visiting organisations we’ve had with us for our first holiday club - Coach Kate, Coach Anastasia, Crafty Hannah, Crafty Arty, Little Bear Woods, Salisbury Escape Rooms, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. It’s been an absolute blast. And finally of course a big thank you to all the children for being the most wonderful bunch, up for everything, eager to help out and just generally lots of fun.

As for next year …. I think a little recuperation is in order, then some reflection, then watch this space ….

As many of you know, I’m now away on our Lands End to John O Groats adventure. Coach Kate will be taking the lead at the holiday club for the next two days. We have Little Bear Woods in tomorrow for another thrilling day of forest school then Tuesday will be our last day.

Despite the rain we’ve had another fun filled day - mainly focussed around a bit of clay modelling. We now have a kitchen full of cups and bowls and animals of all shapes and sizes drying ready to be painted another day - I can only imagine the colours these are going to turn into over the next few days.

Added to that we’ve seen some incredible hall hurdling, some awesome team racing, some spectacular parachute games to name just a few of todays activities.

I hope all of tomorrows children are getting some good zzzzzs in as it’s bouncy castle day tomorrow!!!
