Lovely to see such generous support at yesterday’s 1st team match where we raised over £400 for Ringwood Foodbank. Big shout out to Chris Tunnicliffe who organised the collection and then headed to the shops to buy them out of Christmas goodies that the Foodbank told us they were short of. Very proud to be part of a true community club trying to make a difference.

Despite the cold and wet, our players turned up today and gave it their absolute all! That is demonstrated by this incredible line of players showcasing playing today at their best.

Whether they picked up awards for best player, most improved or for displaying our TREDS values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship - to be showing up and aiming to improve just a little each week we simply as a club cannot ask for more.

Whilst we're showcasing only 11 incredible players in this line up, there were many, many more the coaches could have given awards to today.

We also can't let this post simply be about the kids, hats off too to the parents, families and carers showing up today, wearing extra layers and cheering on their players. That support means everything and we appreciate some weeks are easier than others, especially when calendars get busy and there's a million things to be doing.

We appreciate you (and the amount of washing you now have to do 🏉🤣)

We are happy to say that this Christmas Eve you will once again be able to give toys to Father Christmas in person in the Market Place on 24th December.

This year his helpers will also be collecting them for him before then and you can leave them at a drop off points in Ringwood.

The Rotary Club of Ringwood will be collecting the toys which will be distributed to Special Schools and Children’s hospices.

If you can’t make it to the Market Square on Christmas Eve then please leave wrapped presents at:
~ The Greyfriars Community Centre reception in Ringwood
~ The Council Offices at the Ringwood Gateway building
~ The Ellingham & Ringwood Rugby Club in Parsonage Barn Lane

The collection points will be open from 1st December until 22nd December

Quick reminder that tomorrow there is a mixture of training at home and away.

Under 6s and Under 11s will be training at ERRFC as usual

Under 7s, Under 8s, Under 9s, Under 10s and Under 12s will all be training AWAY at Fawley

Coaches will have sent through instructions, start times etc and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let them or us know.

It looks like it's going to be a cold one in the morning, so we recommend layers for both players and spectators.

Christmas Party for the Mini's is on Sunday 10th December. Fun training from 9-10am and then party from 10-11am

Who knew one area of grass could bring so much joy?

Whilst the sun may not always be shining and sometimes it may be muddy, these pitches allow over 100 of our Minis to play the sport they love each week.

Playing rugby brings with it so many benefits to our players:
~ Improving physical health (we love making them run)
~ Developing social skills
~ Learning how to lose (it builds character and is good practice for life)
~ Learning to win (graciously and because it feels good to win and know you've worked hard to achieve that win)
~ Equal opportunities (everyone gets the chance to have the ball, to tackle, to try, to be part of the team)
~ Building self-esteem and confidence (bit by bit, little by little, they see their achievements and start to believe in themselves)
~ Having positive role models (from our coaches to our volunteers and players throughout the club)
~ Making lifelong friends (it doesn't matter the school, the set, the class, they become great friends)
~ Improving academic success (did you know playing at least one sport can help to boost their grades)
~ Being part of a team (not just in name, really being a team and learning what it takes to be a true team player)
~ Learning to respect others and their decisions (they may not like it, but they appreciate the authority of their coaches and referees)
~ Helping to reduce stress (there's a lot going on in their world, this helps to reduce that stress a little bit)

One bit of grass, 7 age groups, lots of amazing coaches, hundreds of players, one amazing game.

Alongside our TREDS values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship rugby also gives far more to our players.

✅ They have fun (let's be honest if they didn't, they'd be sat on the floor in a sulk)
✅ They are helpful, their teammates, to new teammates, to their coaches (we accept maybe not so much at home 😂)
✅ They are respectful of themselves, other players, their coaches and the game
✅ They achieve truly great things, not just as individuals but by working as part of a team
✅ They love what they do, the players and the coaches - there's something magical seeing everyone doing something they love
✅ They work hard and smart (our coaches make sure they do both, and if in doubt if it didn't work the first time - do what your coach told you to 🤣)
✅ They communicate, calling from the ball, supporting one another, cheering on their team, celebrating every try
✅ They listen and learn from their coaches, from themselves and from each other

Together we are a team. We couldn't do it without the players, their supporters (parents, carers, friends and family), our amazing coaches and the whole team which makes up ERRFC Mini's.

If you're in need of a little motivation this week, why not get it from this bundle of incredible players who once again showed up, demonstrated some awesome teamwork and resilience and gave playing a game they love their all.

It may have been a windy one on the sidelines, but watching these kids and their teammates playing together, learning, growing, showing off their new skills and enjoying every second of their training makes it all worth it.

We also welcomed new players again this week, trying out their first of 3 FREE sessions, some even winning awards in their first week for getting stuck in and doing their best.

Congratulations to all our players for such an amazing morning. It was lovely to see our pitches full of children all playing a game they love, learning new skills and putting them into practice.

With so many dashing off for other events, we only managed to capture this fabulous group this morning.

Huge congratulations to our award winners and all our players for showing up, trying their best and listening to their coaches.

Thank you to all our players who turned out today, many of which then went off to attend and take part in Remembrance Day events.

Some of our Minis trained until 10.55am and then participated in a 2 minute silence at the rugby ground. We are exceptionally proud of each of them and all those taking the opportunity to pay their respects today.
