The York & Ainsty North branch was established in 1950 and is part of The Pony Club Area 3. In 1995 Barbara Birchall became DC. Members from 5 to 21 years old and associates to 25 take part in all club activities. The emphasis is correct horsemanship, fun, responsibility and friendship. Teams are entered in most disciplines. Rallies are held on farm/parkland in various locations between Knaresboro

ugh and York. A Main & Mini camp, a Summer and Christmas show, a Fun day and Egg hunt are held annually, as well as formal rallies and advanced training. The Pony Club is the number one organisation for young people who love ponies and riding. There are more than 43,000 Pony Club Members in Great Britain, belonging to either a Branch or a Centre - there are more than 350 of each of these. Membership of The Pony Club offers fun, friendship, training, events and competitions. Internationally The Pony Club has a membership of over 110,000 across 18 countries, making it the largest association of riders in the world. Most British equestrian medal winners at The Olympics and World Championships have been Members of The Pony Club.

Area 3 Dressage Qualifier opens on 12th July 2026. This Yorkshire and the Humber based horse event will take place at Allerton Park,, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, HG5 0SE.

How many of you spotted Olly and Dancing Lad representing YAN in the mini major today at Bramham? Together with super speedy mini Florence from the Vale of York they flew round the 80cm/100cm relay to take 2nd place 🥈 Such a brilliant experience in the main ring!
Jess and Olly also took part in the pc team show jumping yesterday and making up part of the Yorkshire Mix team with his other horse Conker, Olly secured a team 4th. Congratulations Olly, there are a few aspiring minis for next year after watching you!

Thankyou to the Vale of York and Port Royal for hosting the Area 3 Showjumping qualifier, and to Sophie for all her hard work training and supporting our three teams on Sunday.

♥️ Our PC70 red team - Amelia, Jemima, Lucy and Layla - all rode lovely clears in the first round with Amelia going on to achieve a double clear and secure her place at regional championships.

We had two PC 80 teams -
💚 Green team of Florrie, Georgia, Izzy and Bella B who finished in 6th, also qualifying. Special mention to Georgia for her very well ridden double clear.

🩵 Unfortunately luck wasn’t on side for the Blue team of Millicent, Mathilda, Bella E and Layla but Mathilda rode a brilliant double clear finishing 10th individually and also qualifying.

⭐ Well done girls, not just for your riding, but also for displaying great friendship and team spirit ⭐

Rule 11 - Page 30

Did you know that PC80 riders will now have a 15 second leeway around the Optimum Time (OT)? ⏱️

🐴 PC70 riders will receive NO penalties for going too slow
🐴 PC80 riders now have a window of 15 seconds after the OT has been reached before they begin accumulating too slow penalties
🐴 ALL HEIGHTS will receive penalties for going too fast (more than 15 seconds under the OT)
