Normal scales do not tell the full story.

You can lose body fat, build muscle, feel fitter and improve your health, while your weight barely changes.

That is why we use the InBody scanner at 3 Sixty Personal Training.

All our members are able to book onto the body scanner and we also carry out monthly reviews to look through their progress properly.

This means we are not just guessing.

The scanner gives us useful information about things like:

Body fat percentage
Skeletal muscle mass
Visceral fat
Body water balance
Muscle balance
Progress over time

It also helps us calculate more accurate calorie targets, so we can give members clear nutrition guidance based on their body, their goals and their progress.

And because we are qualified to coach people through this properly, we can help adjust those targets over time as their body changes.

That might mean increasing calories, reducing calories, changing protein targets, adjusting training or simply reassuring someone that they are making progress even if the scales have not moved much.

This is where the monthly reviews matter.

We sit down, look at what has changed, discuss what is working, spot where support is needed and build a clear plan for the next stage.

Because progress is not just about weighing less.

It is about becoming stronger, healthier, fitter and more confident.

World Lipoedema Day Post

June 11th is World Lipoedema Day.

I wanted to post about this from me because it is something I live with every day.

Lipoedema is not just “weight gain”.
It is not caused by laziness.
It is not something you can simply diet away.

It is a chronic condition that affects fat cells, usually in the legs, hips, bum and arms. It can cause pain, heaviness, swelling, bruising and a feeling that your body is working against you, even when you are trying your best.

For me, it has been hard to accept at times.

I also live with ME, so I often have two things fighting against each other. One condition makes movement harder because of pain, heaviness and swelling. The other can leave me exhausted and dealing with fatigue that most people never see.

And I’ll be honest, when I’m fatigued, I have often eaten for energy. Not because I don’t know better, but because when your body feels drained, your brain looks for the quickest way to get through the day.

That is one of the reasons I care so much about how we coach people at 3 Sixty.

Because not everyone walking into a gym is just trying to “lose a bit of weight”.

Some people are fighting pain.
Some are fighting fatigue.
Some are fighting years of frustration with their body.
Some are trying to build confidence after feeling like their body has let them down.

Lipoedema can feel very lonely because so many people do not understand it. A lot of women are dismissed, judged or told to just eat less and move more.

But awareness matters.

The more people understand lipoedema, the more compassion there is. The more women can get the right support. The more we can stop blaming people for something they did not choose.

So today, I’m sharing this for anyone who lives with lipoedema or any condition that makes fitness, weight loss or daily life feel harder.

You are not on your own.
Your body deserves care, not punishment.
And progress can still happen, even if it looks different to someone else’s.

Wiping benches, tidying kit, picking up bands and wondering how chalk gets absolutely everywhere.

Trying to work out who has hidden the 8kg dumbbells again.

Convincing you that you can do one more rep even when your face says absolutely not.

Showing people where things are even when they’ve been coming for months.

Nutrition Reality Checkers
Gently reminding you that “I’ve been good all week” can still include a few cheeky extras at the weekend.

Helping you see what you’re capable of before you fully believe it yourself.

🌟 Member of the Month: Jacqui Sarginson 🌟

A huge congratulations to Jacqui ,our 3 Sixty Personal Training Member of the Month.

Jacqui has been absolutely brilliant with her consistency.

She has been turning up for her training, hitting her step targets, staying on track with her nutrition and ticking off the goals we set together.

And the results speak for themselves:

✅ 1.1kg muscle gained
✅ 3.5kg body fat lost
✅ Body fat percentage down by 4.3%

This is exactly what happens when you focus on the basics and keep showing up.

A huge shout out to our Coach Josh 👏

Over the last few months, Josh has been putting a real focus into his own training and nutrition and we are genuinely so proud of the progress he has made.

What makes this even more impressive is that Josh works two jobs, coaches here at 3 Sixty and still finds a way to make time for himself.

That is not easy.
But it is exactly the kind of consistency we talk to our members about all the time.

Since starting, Coach Josh has gone from:

Weight: 94.9kg to 87.5kg
Muscle mass: 36.7kg to 36.9kg
Body fat: 30.5kg to 22.9kg
Body fat percentage: 32.1% to 26.1%
Training belt: down 4 notches

Now, the bit we really want to highlight is the body fat percentage.

Because this is where the body scanner becomes such an important tool.
If we only looked at the scales, we would see that Josh has lost 7.4kg.....which is brilliant.

But the body scanner shows us something much more valuable.

It shows that Josh has lost a significant amount of body fat, while maintaining and even slightly increasing his muscle mass.

That means he has not just become lighter.
He has become leaner, stronger and healthier.

This is why we do not rely on weight alone at 3 Sixty.

The scales can tell you one part of the story, but they do not tell you what that weight is made up of.

Our body scanner helps us see:

Whether body fat is coming down
Whether muscle is being maintained
Whether nutrition is supporting the goal
Whether the training plan is working
What we may need to adjust next

And for our members, that makes a huge difference.

Because sometimes the scales do not move as quickly as people hope, but their body fat is dropping, their shape is changing, their clothes are fitting better and their health is improving.

That is the kind of progress we want people to understand and feel proud of.

We run 4 week programmes for a reason.

Not because we think we can completely change your life in 28 days.
And not because we are promising miracles.

We do it because 4 weeks gives both sides enough time to see if this is the right fit.

It gives you time to experience how we coach, how the sessions work, how supported you feel and whether 3Sixty is the kind of place you can see yourself sticking with.

It also gives us time to understand you properly.

Your goals.
Your starting point.
Your injuries or worries.
Your routine.
Your habits.
Your confidence levels.
What has stopped you in the past.

And yes, you can absolutely get results in 4 weeks.

You can feel fitter.

There’s a big difference between a gym that is built for numbers and a coaching facility that is built around people.

Big commercial gyms have their place. They’re convenient, cheap and full of equipment.

But the business model is simple: Get as many people signed up as possible.

The more members, the more revenue.
And because most people do not all turn up at the same time, the model still works.

But that is very different to what we do at 3 Sixty.

We are not trying to get hundreds of people walking through our doors every day.
We do not want wait lists.
We do not want members wandering around, unsure what to do.

We are a small independent coaching facility with one home, one team and one focus.
𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆.

We average around 50 to 70 attendances per day.

But every one of those attendances is part of a booked, capped, fully coached 45-minute session.

That means when you walk in, you are not left to figure it out alone.

You are coached.
You are shown what to do.
Your technique is checked.
Your exercises are adapted.
Your injuries, confidence, fitness level and goals are taken into account.

THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.

You are not paying for access to equipment.

You are paying for guidance, structure, support and coaching from people who actually know your name.

We know every single one of our members.

We know who needs a push.

We know who needs reassurance.

We know who has a sore knee, a stiff back, low confidence, a big goal or a busy week ahead.

That is not possible when the goal is just to get as many people through the door as possible. And we are proud of that.

We are not a chain.
We do not want another site.
We are not trying to become the biggest gym around.

We are putting everything into making this one facility the best it can possibly be for the people we coach.

Because cheaper does not always mean better value. Sometimes cheap means you are paying to be left to it.
