🟠⚫ SUNDAY TRAINING REPORT ⚫🟠
A really top-class session on the Corros this morning! ☀️⚽

Today, our main focus was on passing, moving, and attacking space. Some of the football on display was absolutely brilliant, and it was fantastic to hear the boys using their voices and communicating much more out on the pitch. That vocal side of their game is improving so much!

We saw some great spells of this translated into our small-sided game, but as coaches, we always want to push for even more consistency!

🧠 Tournament Prep:
We also introduced the "no retreat" rule today, which is one of the many new rules the boys will be facing at our upcoming tournament. On Tuesday, we'll be introducing a few more of these new rules, with the plan to tie it all together the following week when we match up against the Hearts Tigers for a proper look.

🚑 Welcome Back:
It was brilliant to have Rhys back out on the grass with us so soon after his injury! Great to see you out there, mate, but please make sure you take it easy and don't overdo it just yet! 🧡

🟠⚫ BELATED TUESDAY TRAINING REPORT ⚫🟠

Better late than never! We had a fantastic session with the boys on Tuesday evening, even if Mother Nature couldn't quite make up her mind! ☀️🌧️🌈

We experienced a real mixed bag of weather—starting with glorious sunshine, dropping into a torrential downpour, and finishing up with beautiful sunshine and rainbows. A massive thank you to Arthur's dad, Martin, for capturing the brilliant photo to go with this post! 📸🙌

The Session:
We kicked things off with a fun warm-up that focused heavily on close control and sharp turning on the ball, before heading straight into our small-sided games. Some of the football on display was absolutely brilliant to see, and the passing game is slowly but surely coming on nicely!

The session was a bit shorter than usual this week as I had to head off to chair the club's monthly general meeting, but the boys made every minute count.

Friday tomorrow, so have a fantastic end to the week, everyone, and we'll see you all bright and early this Sunday morning for our next training session! ⚽

🎈🎂 HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY, TOMMY! 🎂🎈

A massive happy birthday to our cheeky number 5, Tommy, who turns 8 years old today! 🥳

Tommy is an absolute character to have in the squad, always keeping the coaches on our toes and bringing plenty of smiles to the team. But don't let that cheeky side fool you—when he crosses that white line, he is an absolute workhorse who gives 100% for his teammates every single week! 💪⚡

We hope you have a fantastic day celebrating, mate! Enjoy all the cake and your presents, and we'll see you on the grass for training this Sunday morning! 🎁🎉

🟠⚫ TUESDAY TRAINING REPORT & MAY POTM! ⚫🟠
First things first, we want to wish a very speedy recovery to Rhys after an unfortunate accident with a gardening tool! 🪴 Despite the minor injury, it was absolutely brilliant to see him still come down to the pitch to see the boys before the session. Top commitment, mate! 👏

Tonight's Session:
Things looked a bit different this evening! With a friendly taking place on the men's pitch, we trained on a slightly bigger area than usual. Safe to say, I think most—if not all—of the boys are completely knackered! 🥵

We started with a sharp warm-up involving changes of direction and sprints, moved into a small passing drill, and finished up with a small-sided game. The extra space really allowed the boys to showcase some lovely football tonight. The key focus now is making sure we translate that slick passing back onto our usual, smaller pitch this Sunday! Overall, a very good, hardworking shift from everyone.

🏆 MAY PLAYER OF THE MONTH 🏆
A huge congratulations to Jamie! He had a tough start to May with a very difficult fixture where his confidence could have easily taken a knock. But fair play to Jamie, his response has been nothing short of outstanding—especially with those heroics at the Colwyn Bay tournament! Fully deserved, mate! 🧤🧱
The Next Chapter:

Jamie is officially our final Player of the Month for the U8s! Aside from a couple of summer tournaments still on the schedule, we are officially an Under 9s team! 🤯 It is crazy to think we are heading into our 4th season together this year.

Rhys has been an absolutely brilliant part of the squad this season. Whether he's putting in a massive shift for the team or delivering those pinpoint crosses into the box—like that unbelievable assist against Pentre Storm recently—he always gives 100% and plays with a smile on his face.

🟠⚫ TUESDAY TRAINING REPORT ⚫🟠

It was absolutely blistering out on the grass today, but that didn't stop our boys from putting in a fantastic shift this evening! ☀️🥵

Given the soaring temperatures, we deliberately kept the session a bit lighter than usual. Our main focus was continuing to dial in our 6v6 format as we prepare for our next summer tournament.

Some of the football on display today was really top quality, but as coaches, the absolute highlight was seeing so many of the boys simply playing the game with massive smiles on their faces. At the end of the day, that is exactly what grassroots football is all about! 😃⚽

📅 Schedule Update: There will be no game or training this weekend. We have decided to give the boys a well-deserved weekend off to fully rest and recharge before they head back to school next week.

🏆 COLWYN BAY TOURNAMENT REPORT! 🏆

What an unbelievable afternoon of football! The boys have done us absolutely proud today in Colwyn Bay, and every single one of them should be incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved.

📈 The Group Stage: The lads put in some brilliant performances to finish 3rd in a tough group, officially qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages!

🧤 Quarter-Finals: We took on Mochdre Sports in a tight game that ended 0-0. It went down to a penalty shootout, and our No.1, Jamie, was the absolute hero—saving ALL THREE penalties to send us through! Unbelievable scenes!

💔 Semi-Finals: We faced off against familiar opponents, St. Asaph, who we had actually defeated earlier in the league stage. It was a fiercely competitive game that again finished 0-0.

Unfortunately, as we all know, penalties are a complete lottery, and this time our luck just ran out.

🌟 Player of the Tournament: There could only be one choice for us coaches today. Jamie takes it for some absolutely brilliant goalkeeping throughout the entire day. Well done, mate, you were a wall! 🧱

🏆 TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: COLWYN BAY! 🏆

Tomorrow, the boys head down the coast to officially kick off our summer tournament season, and we are absolutely buzzing for it!

It is going to be a packed schedule. We are really looking forward to testing ourselves against some brand new opposition, facing off against Mynydd Isa, CPD Talysarn Celts, Pentraeth FC, and our hosts, Colwyn Bay Panthers. We’ll also be mixing it up with some familiar faces in Pentre Storm, St Asaph Tigers, and Penmaenmawr Phoenix! ⚽

Tournament football means different things to different people. For us as coaches, tomorrow is simply about the boys getting out there to test themselves against different teams, spending the entire day together around the game they love, and strengthening that incredible bond they have as a squad. Yes, bringing home a trophy would be a fantastic bonus, but the shared experience—win, lose, or draw—is absolutely what matters most to us. 🤝

Get an early night tonight boys, you are going to need all your energy for tomorrow! 🔋

🏆⚽️ Colwyn Bay U8 Tournament Preview ⚽️🏆

⏰️ 12.15pm KO - 15.45pm (Approx Finish)

Following the conclusion of our U6s and U7s Tournament, it will be a quick turn around before we head into the Afternoons offering of the U8 Tournament. Representing Colwyn Bay Football Club at U8 are our Panthers 🐈‍⬛ and Tigers 🐯.

Group A 📊

The Panthers are in Group A with fellow league rivals Penmaenmawr Phoenix and a trio of teams from the Rhyl and District League, St Asaph City Tigers, Rhyl Hearts Athletic and Pentre Storm are all in. Mynydd Isa from Mold and Talysarn Celts from the outskirts of Caernarfon are both also involved and Pentraeth FC from Anglesey make up Group A.

Group B 📊

The Tigers meanwhile are joined in Group B by nearby rivals Mochdre Sports, Glan Conwy Greens and Penryhn Bay. Denbigh Town Dragons and Prestatyn Athletic Tigers from the Rhyl and District League are also involved and from further afield we welcome Ruthin Town and Ellesmere Port Red Lions.
