In the light of last night's Welsh Government instructions regarding sporting events, the 2021 Rhyl Boxing Day Dip has been postponed, and will now take place at 12 noon on Sunday 6 March.

Given the concerns of the Omicron variant, the main concern is keeping Rhyl's all-weather and inshore lifeboats on service. All those who organise and run the Festive Dip are volunteers and their safety and that of those who take part is the top priority.
With the way the new variant is more easily transmitted and with cases rising in this area, it was deemed better to postpone the dip until March, rather than run the risk of crew members being exposed to large numbers of people at this time.
It should go without saying that if too many crew were forced to isolate, due to coming into contact with someone with Covid, then one or both lifeboats could end up off service.
So make a date for noon, 6 March and
