Happy Word Oceans Day 2026!
On 8 June every year since 1992, the United Nations (UN) has designated a special day marking the importance of the world’s oceans.
They call it World Oceans Day.
Events marking it take place across the world and more than 100 countries take part in the celebrations.
In 2020, the event called for world leaders to commit to protecting 30% of our oceans by 2030 - in the hope that if that happens it will help combat climate change and protect marine biodiversity. We can all play our part, a beach clean while on a walk, removing litter you see on a dive, buying sustainable seafood - every little helps.

A great day at the lake with Rhondda Scuba Divers Club!

Today was all about training, teamwork and progression. We worked through three Dive & Rescue Manager scenarios, along with DM1 and DM2 for Adam — a brilliant effort from everyone involved.

A huge congratulations to Ian and Adam on achieving their Dive Leader qualification. Fantastic work both!

Well done also to David, who is continuing his journey towards Dive Leader, with both O2 Administration and Dive & Rescue Manager now signed off.

A big thank you to Kris and Nigel for assisting today and helping make the training such a success.
