Active Nutrition

Active Nutrition We are passionate about helping people improve their health and wellbeing. Welcome to the Active Nutrition page.

Active Nutrition has been operating as a full time health and fitness business for the last 14yrs. During that time we have helped thousands of people to improve their lives. Through personal training, fitness and nutrition programmes and various fitness classes and bootcamps. We have helped many young sports people achieve their dreams, some become international stars in their chosen sport. Many

housewives to loose a few pounds and
brightened up the day and giving enthusiasm to many peoples mental health. We also provide outdoor activities for schools, community organisations, colleges, plus corporate teambuilding days and weekend health retreats. I recent years I have moved on from personal training and I've been busy developing outdoor activities for community organisations and spent 2yrs working at the Cambrian Village Trust in Mid Rhondda, who now have a sustainable activity programme of canoeing, bushcraft, outdoor gym, walking groups and many other activities, plus an ongoing service level agreements with Social Services

Over the last 2yrs I have taken on the same role developing the health and wellbeing programme for the lottery funded project Create Your Space run by Welcome To Our Woods in the Upper Rhondda. We now run 12 weekly activities including the Social Strollers walking group, Woodland Therapy, Pilates, Walking Rugby etc. We have approx 100 people engaging in the activities every week. The project has appeared on ITV and BBC news, plus had a visit from the 1st minister Mark Drakeford. Over the last year I helped develop the Be Active RCT programme, in which we work as a team with 5 community organisations to help support the community and improve peoples Health and wellbeing. The future is very exiting for Active Nutrition as part of the Welcome To Our Woods team and Rhondda Skyline which is shaping how the community can manage the surrounding forestry in the Upper Rhondda for Social, Environmental and Economic benefits.

A great start to our โ€˜Great Escapeโ€™ project.

Our Welcome To Our Woods, Woodland Therapy volunteers were going to be welcoming NHS front line workers into the woods to take part in our Woodland Therapy sessions for some well needed rest bite. But because of COVID restrictions we come up with a remote version.

22 NHS staff have received a Woodland Therapy self care toolbox, a pdf booklet of outdoor activities for relaxation and a weekly fun get together on zoom, including mindfulness and Zumba.

This is a great story as people who were firstly referred to Woodland Therapy as NHS patients have now become volunteers and are helping hard working NHS staff relax, recharge and improve their own mental health.

If the NHS staff are fitter and healthier themselves they can carry on doing the fantastic job of caring for the nation

Great to see how The Play Yard has diversified during the pandemic to support the community.

Plus keeping the facility running so it will still be there when this is over.

We was happy to help out with delivering the lunchboxes last summer, that project put smiles on so many young faces.

We have missed delivering Cycle Tots and the walking rugby at the Play Yard.

Well done Nathan and the team ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
