In my opinion evey triathlete, open water swimmer or just anyone trying to improve their swimming should be incoperating some other strokes into their training.
There are huge technical and skill‑based benefits (rotation, catch, strength, timing, feel for the water) which go a miss.
There’s a reason the best swimmers in the world train all four strokes.
There’s a reason learn‑to‑swim programs teach all four from day one.
Because developing multiple movement patterns makes you a more confident, adaptable, efficient swimmer — no matter your level.
If you want to know how to add other strokes into your training to improve your front crawl, drop me a message and I’ll point you in the right direction.
