๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Course Update
After an exceptionally dry spring, the course received a very welcome 42mm of rainfall this week. The combination of moisture and more moderate temperatures has provided a timely boost to turf health across the course, stimulating strong, consistent growth on all playing surfaces and arriving at an ideal time as we begin preparations for the Club Championships.

๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Weather & Conditions
The rain has been a real tonic for the course. Warmer soil temperatures combined with the recent moisture have encouraged strong growth across all surfaces, and the team has been busy maintaining presentation standards throughout the week - with greens, tees, approaches, fairways and semi-rough all receiving attention.

๐ŸŸข On the Greens
Greens received a double verti-cut followed by a light top dressing, continuing our programme of reducing organic matter and refining the surface for a firmer, smoother putting experience. A light nutritional feed has also been applied to maintain plant health and support recovery following the recent period of warm weather.

๐ŸŒฑ Around the Course
We have continued our moisture management programme with a wetting agent application to tees and approaches. This improves water infiltration and moisture retention within the soil profile, helping these areas deliver more consistent conditions throughout the summer months.

The team has also completed solid tining on tees and surrounds - relieving surface compaction, improving air exchange and promoting healthier rooting across these high-wear areas.

๐Ÿ† Course Projects & Looking Ahead
With the Club Championships taking place next weekend, preparations are now well underway. Our focus over the coming days will be on presenting the course in the very best condition while continuing to support the health and resilience of the turf. We will monitor growth rates closely and adjust mowing frequencies and maintenance practices as conditions evolve.

The recent rainfall has certainly given the course a welcome boost, and we look forward to seeing members enjoy the benefits over the coming weeks.

Enjoy your golf!

๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Course Update
As we approach the end of May, the weather looks set to turn much more summer-like. We're now only a week away from the start of summer, and perhaps it's fitting that spring should close out with some warm, dry weather - overall it has been a largely fine and dry spring, much like last year.

โ›ณ On the Greens
This week we carried out further surface refinement on the greens, with higher moisture levels enabling another verti-cut and light top dress. Keeping the plant refined helps surfaces stay firm, and top dressing protects the crown of the plant - reducing stress and ensuring consistent performance.

๐ŸŒฟ Around the Course
Recovery is well underway on areas previously affected by the dry spell, with the combination of recent rain and rising temperatures setting things up nicely for the weeks ahead.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Course Projects
Ongoing focus on green surface refinement through verti-cutting and top dressing to maintain firmness and protect plant health heading into summer.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Looking Ahead
With summer just around the corner and soil temperatures stabilising, we should start to see growth kick on properly. Enjoy the bank holiday weekend! ๐ŸŒž

Enjoy your golf!

๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Weather & Conditions
After a long run of high pressure and mostly dry weather, conditions have finally shifted, and this week brought the first significant rainfall on the Heath in over two months. The week has been noticeably cool, especially on Monday night, with a real chill in the south London air as I watched Hull City dismantle Millwall to book their place at Wembley. As I made my way into work bleary-eyed on Tuesday morning, the temperature dipped below zero, almost unheard of at this time of year.

The unsettled weather has been long overdue and will not harm the course as we look to regain some moisture. Despite the rain, growth remains extremely slow, with low day and night temperatures this week, coupled with northerly winds. With more rain, followed by a warm-up forecast next week, things should stabilise and growth should thrive over the coming weeks.

โ›ณ On the Greens
Despite little growth, most playing surfaces are close to where we want them. The key now is to maintain them. Greens will be sprayed with a feed and growth regulator this weekend and received a wetting agent before yesterday's showers. We will continue to closely monitor nutrition and moisture levels as we move towards the start of summer, as this is when stress disease will begin to come onto our radar.

๐ŸŒฟ Around the Course
The spring meetings were a success, with the weather mostly on the side. The course was fiery, and the greens played firm and fast, exactly as we would want them for a major competition. Hopefully, all those who played enjoyed the course.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Looking Ahead
Some more welcome rainfall is forecast over the coming days, but there is already some suggestion that warmer weather is going to return by the bank holiday weekend.

Enjoy your golf.

๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Course Update

๐ŸŒค๏ธ Weather & Conditions
The famous Reigate Heath rain shield was in full force last Saturday, with just 2.5 mm of rainfall recorded despite much more being forecast and the dry, settled spell has continued since. With temperatures building nicely, conditions out on the course are feeling very much like summer already.

โ›ณ On the Greens
The greens are now at summer performance levels and performing very well. Despite the dry weather, the surfaces are in great health and have received two separate sprays this week in preparation for the spring meetings. A further verti cut and light top dressing were completed mid-week, and the team are now dialling things in nicely ahead of a busy few days of competition. Expect fast, true surfaces out there.

๐ŸŒฟ Around the Course
Tees and approaches have been cut twice this week, with fairways and semi receiving a cut too. All areas around the course have been strimmed and tidied throughout, including the bunkers, which are looking smart. The course is in excellent shape overall - firm, fiery, and a real treat to play in these conditions.

๐Ÿšฉ Looking Ahead
It's a big few days ahead with both the men's and women's spring meetings taking place. Good luck to all those competing โ€” we hope you enjoy the course in what promises to be some fantastic scoring conditions!

Enjoy your golf.

๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Course Update

Welcome to May! After an exceptional April - the 3rd driest ever recorded at the Heath, we're now heading into the main part of the playing season.

โ˜€๏ธ Weather & Conditions
April 2026 goes into the record books as one of the driest months ever at the Heath, with just 2.5mm of rainfall recorded. The forecast for May looks positive, with some needed rainfall expected from this weekend, the first significant rain since 13th March.

๐ŸŸข On the Greens
The greens are close to peak condition. An unplanned stress-spray mix was applied early this week ahead of the easterly winds, supporting their health and allowing the team to verti-cut and lightly top-dress. This process will be repeated next week, along with a feed and growth regulator application - all to ensure the greens are performing at their very best for the upcoming spring meetings.

๐ŸŒฟ Around the Course
All maintenance work on tees and approaches has now been completed, with these areas fed and ready to respond as the weather improves.

๐Ÿšœ Course Projects
The irrigation works carried out earlier in the year are already proving their worth, helping to protect and maintain grass across the course even in these exceptionally dry conditions.

๐Ÿ“… Looking Ahead
Next week, all focus shifts to spring meeting preparation, with bunker work, strimming and detail work taking place alongside regular mowing. We're in a great place heading into this key part of the season.

Enjoy your golf!

Our annual England v the Rest of the World men's competition - 36 holes, plenty of refreshments, and great camaraderie out on the heath.

The Rest of the World took the spoils this time around, but England will be back in 2027. ๐Ÿ’ช

And special mention to Tony Whitty, spotted sporting his 42-year-old Zambian national golf team shirt and it still fits! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜„

๐Ÿ“‹ Weekly Course Update
As we approach the end of April, we are experiencing a remarkable run of settled, sunny weather โ€” and after the rain of January and February, it has been an excellent start to the playing season.

๐ŸŒค๏ธ Weather & Conditions
April has been exceptionally dry and sunny, and our irrigation system is doing a brilliant job keeping all areas of the course well watered. There are many hours of work going on behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly โ€” so if you see green staff out with hoses or checking irrigation, please do be patient with them.

โ›ณ On the Greens
Greens have taken huge strides forward this week and are right on track. The different grass types are beginning to even out, and surfaces are now much more refined following another reduction in height of cut and the first verti-cut of the season on Thursday. The feed applied last Friday has responded very well, with consistency of growth and colour now much improved. Plant health is in the best shape at this time of year that Matt has seen, a very positive sign. We are anticipating summer performance levels by this time next week if current progress continues.

๐ŸŒฟ Around the Course
Spring maintenance on tees and approaches has continued this week. Approaches have been top-dressed and will be fed next week, while tees have been fed and heavily watered, with top-dressing to follow early next week. All areas have been cut, and growth will begin to accelerate around the turn of the month.

๐Ÿšฉ Looking Ahead
The main part of the golf season is nearly upon us, and spring so far has been glorious. The course is in great shape and improving day by day, please enjoy the sunshine and the conditions out there.

Enjoy your golf!
