We hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!
It's been a busy one for us. Yesterday, we took a great group of lads on a stag-do kayaking adventure from Linton into York City Centre. Then this morning, I joined a team from the Wensleydale Round Table for a mountain bike orienteering event in the beautiful Wensleydale countryside- local knowledge helps 🤣

We’ve had a fantastic few days with Cohort 2 from a school in Doncaster! It certainly hasn’t been without its challenges; flooded caves and gills, 14–36 mph winds on Semerwater, a raging River Ure flowing through Wensleydale and 37 excited Year 7s eager to get stuck in.

Despite the conditions, we adapted and made the most of every opportunity. The group spent a day in Nidderdale weaselling and walking, tackled abseiling off Appersett Viaduct and flew down the longest zip wire in Wensleydale.
A huge well done to everyone involved. We heard plenty of “I can’t do this” moments, only to watch those same students go on to smash every challenge in front of them. The resilience, determination and teamwork on display has been incredible. 👏

It was beautiful seeing the first grouse chicks of 2026 on the moor. Today at Low Mill the plan to go caving was halted unfortunately by a RTC on the road from Hawes to Ribblehead, so the group had a blast doing some rock climbing and archery.

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend!
On Sunday, I had the pleasure of guiding an Olympian and professional rock climber, another professional climber and four of their friends from Boroughbridge to Linton along the beautiful River Ure/Ouse. A fantastic sunny day on the water with a great group. ☀️ 🛶 ☀️
The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying a couple of family adventures in the great outdoors, all wrapped up perfectly with a dinner round the fire and s’mores pudding. Sometimes the simple things are the best!

I downed tools in the office this afternoon and headed for cycle in the Yorkshire Wolds and on to the Yorkshire Coastline. It’s an area i think gets over looked and the road cycling is absolutely class! 🚴‍♂️

This weekend we’ve got a hen party taking on our two-day canoe adventure and earlier in the week we welcomed a school group to Low Mill for three days.

This morning all teams went raft building on Semerwater, they absolutely smashed it! It was fantastic to see everyone working together, having fun and making the most of their time on and definitely in the water.

Today with Cohort Two, we’ve been out gorge walking in Hell Gill this morning, followed by an afternoon of adventures with two teams abseiling and one team taking on the zip wire. We ended the day with a lovely super chilled walk to wind down.
I’ve now left them getting ready for tonight’s talent show and I’m looking forward to seeing the winning act in the morning!

Tomorrow is their final day, and we’re finishing with raft building on Semerwater. They’ve been absolutely ace all week; resilient and got stuck into every activity thrown at them. So proud of them all!

Today, our Year 7 group took on gorge walking at Hell Gill near Kirkby Stephen. They were absolutely fantastic, supporting one another, offering encouragement and fully embracing every part of the experience, despite the very cold water!

We finished the day with two teams abseiling while another tackled the zip wire. Tomorrow morning brings their final activities of zip wire and abseiling before we welcome Cohort Two.
