Today we hosted a SEND Table Tennis session as part of the Cornwall School Games Programme, delivered in partnership with Active Cornwall.
Schools from across Cornwall attended the event, giving pupils the opportunity to experience table tennis through a variety of fun, inclusive and engaging activities. The session was delivered by a team of coaches from across West Cornwall, including Kelly, Craig, Callan, John and Amanda, who worked together to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone involved.
Participants enjoyed a range of activities throughout the day, including relay races using table tennis balls and balloons, target practice challenges and around the table. The enthusiasm shown by the children was fantastic, with everyone actively taking part and giving their best effort.
The event received excellent feedback from schools and support staff. One school even commented that the pupils described it as βthe best dayβ on their journey home, which was wonderful to hear.
Events like this demonstrate the positive impact sport can have in bringing people together, building confidence and encouraging participation. It was a pleasure to share our passion for table tennis with young people from across Cornwall and showcase how inclusive and enjoyable the sport can be. π
