CANCELLED - Reliability Ride

Due to the increasingly poor weather forecast for overnight and into tomorrow—including ice, flooding in several low‑lying areas, etc —we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone tomorrow's Reliability Ride.

Rider safety is always our top priority, and following on from a pre-ride inspection today, the course routes are poor with flooding and a risk of ice overnight, it simply wouldn’t be responsible to go ahead as scheduled.

We know many of you were looking forward to the challenge, and we share your disappointment. A new date will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility; we’re committed to delivering a safe and enjoyable event for everyone once the weather improves.

Don’t forget entry closes Wednesday for Berryfields cross on 10th July. No entry on the day. It’s summer cross so any bike with knobbly tyres are fine… no e-bikes I’m afraid.

Weather looks ok 🤞a bit cooler than last year. There’s a few extra steps to build still but the bank whilst being twice as long and a bit higher is out as we are preparing it for the West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League (WMCCL) race being held here in September… planks will be in still

The RRPCC Time Trials program for 2024 has been set as follows:

All Tuesday evenings, all meeting in the lay-by in Weethley Bank B4088 (what three words: retail.hotspots.lawyer). Sign-on from 6:30pm, 1st rider off 7pm

7th May - 5 miles K34/5
21st May - 10 miles K34/10
4th June - 10 miles K34/10
18th June - 9.8miles - K34/9.8
2nd July - 10 miles K34/10
16th July - 14 miles K34/14
30th July - 10 miles K34/10

Reliability Rides

Sunday 18th February

Start time 9:00

Signing on from 8:30

Starting from Feckenham Village Hall, High Street, Feckenham, Redditch B96 6HN

Facilities:
Parking, toilets and changing facilities will be available at HQ before and after the ride.

Cost:
The cost is £5, this includes a hot drink and slice of cake at the end. Payment can be made on the day by card or cash. Also an event is being created on the British Cycling website which will allow online payment. Details are not yet available.

Finish Cut-off:
The cut-off time is 3pm to return to HQ, if you don't think you will be able to make it back by this time, please contact the organiser to let them know.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bob Hampton who passed away peacefully this morning (Tuesday 12th December 2023). In recognition of his many cycling achievements and services to the RRPC Club, Bob was awarded Life Membership. He broke many club records, held various Club offices and was Club President for many years.
We pass on our sympathy and condolences to Mary, his wife, and the rest of his family.

Be 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥 and point out any hazards in the road.

Riders behind you won’t have such a good view of the road ahead… because you’re in the way.

No matter whether you are at the front or mid-group, you should be pointing out all hazards to the riders behind you, these are commonly potholes, recessed drains, lost underwear, gravel and traffic calming infrastructure.

A week to go until our go ride cyclocross!

We are having an entry level event ahead of the start of West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League (WMCCL) next weekend.

Junior racing aimed at beginners to have a go before the league starts to see what it is all about. Entry online is only £1 or entry in the day £3!
