🏆 REDDITCH – MFFL CUP FINAL Q&A
From fighting at the top of the West Championship to booking their place in the inaugural MFFL Cup Final, Redditch have been one of the stories of the season 👏
Ahead of Finals Day, we caught up with the Redditch management team to reflect on the journey so far and look ahead to the biggest game in the club’s history.
⚽ What’s been the biggest reason behind Redditch’s rise this season?
“The introduction of our TNF sessions has completely transformed us. We’ve had more lads getting involved and the regular 60 minutes of football every Tuesday has made a huge difference.
Fitness levels have improved massively, which has led to more weight loss, more confidence, and stronger relationships across the squad. It’s created a really positive environment and that’s shown on the pitch.”
🔥 How pleased were you with the semi-final win over Kidderminster?
“We probably weren’t at our best, which was frustrating, but the lads showed how far we’ve come. Our fitness levels and attitude helped us get through the semi-final and secure the result.
We’ve now got real depth in the squad and the impact from the substitutes has been massive in helping us get over the line in games.”
👏 Any standout individuals this season?
“This is a really difficult question because there have been so many standout performers this season — and I’m already dreading choosing a Manager’s Player of the Season!
But if I had to give a special mention, it would be Aaron Benton. We’ve seen a change of leadership this season and he’s stepped up to that responsibility brilliantly. He leads by example every game, has worked incredibly hard off the pitch with his weight loss, and very rarely puts a foot wrong.”
🏆 Thoughts heading into the final against Sandwell?
“We’re honestly amazed with how this season has gone. At the start of the season we had no expectations — so to be in this position is something everyone should be proud of.
We’ll prepare exactly the same as we do for every game and give Sandwell the respect we give every opponent. All we can do now is play our football and show the same grit, determination and togetherness that’s got us this far.”
