These medications are everywhere right now. A lot of people are using them. A lot more are considering it.

And I'm not here to tell you whether you should or shouldn't.

That's a conversation for you and your doctor.

But there's something I think is really important to understand β€” especially for women over 40.

Without the right plan alongside it β€” and a plan for afterwards β€” you could end up in a worse position than when you started.

These medications work by suppressing your appetite. You eat less. The weight comes off.

But here's the problem β€” your body doesn't just lose fat when the weight drops.
It loses muscle too.

Research suggests that without strength training, as much as 40% of the weight lost can actually be muscle β€” not fat.

For a woman in her 40s or 50s β€” who is already losing muscle naturally every year just through ageing β€” that's a serious issue.

It doesn't.

After 40 your body doesn't stand still.
