We need to clear the air about some claims that appeared on the Go Disc Golf site, particularly regarding Manchester DGC, "Mike T," and EDGA support.
First: you're right to call this out. We shared the site in Facebook groups asking for initial feedback on the course finder functionality, but we shared it with placeholder content still live. That was my mistake—asking for technical feedback while leaving template text and unverified claims on the page.
Specific corrections:
Manchester DGC / "Mike T": This was placeholder text that should never have gone live. We have not worked with Manchester DGC and "Mike T" doesn't exist. Removed immediately, and we'll reach out to Manchester DGC to apologize for the confusion.
EDGA/Frank: I recently joined EDGA as a member and reached out about potential collaboration. I should not have implied Frank or EDGA officially "support" us yet—that relationship is "member exploring partnership," not endorsement. Clarifying that with Frank directly today.
Stats (3,200 members, 10k views): These were projection/target numbers from our business template, not actual current metrics. Removing until we have real user data to share.
What is real: We do have PDGA API access (thanks Steve Ganz) and the course finder is pulling live PDGA data. I am EDGA member. But having legitimate backend access doesn't excuse inaccurate front-end claims.
We're fixing the site now, then properly re-opening it for the actual feedback we were originally seeking—on the course search functionality, not our marketing copy.
If you spot anything else inaccurate, DM me. I'd rather hear it privately now than publicly later.
