This is something I think a lot of people do without thinking and is what hinders weight loss for a lot of people.

For me and many others, this will occur when we are cooking and what we use whilst we are cooking.

Take Olive oil, for example, a tablespoon of that is around 120 calories, how many times have you cooked and given the pan a good swirl of oil? Next thing you know you 5-600 calories in just on oils ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Your daily activity is everything other than exercise.

I know we all don't have the time of day to get out for long walks, or even train every single day

Or you might have a job where you're sitting down for the best part of your day

Out NEAT is especially important when it comes to fat loss, but it will contribute to weight loss on a whole if we aren't managing to be active enough throughout the day. Combined with underestimating calories it can make weight loss hard!

It's usually a ridiculous amount of weight in next to no time. More often than not it will be stupidly unrealistic. Having goals are important for sure BUT!

They need to be manageable and achievable

If you're setting yourself an unrealistic goal that would require perfection day in day out. You're setting yourself up for failure which will lead to more setbacks when it comes to weight loss ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

This is a great exercise for building your rhomboids, helping you build a thicker upper back โœ…

Itโ€™s also a great accessory if youโ€™re looking to build up your deadlifts!

On the left, I wasnโ€™t training properly

My diet was rubbish

My activity levels were non-existent!

I was stuck in a rut!

Fast forward 6 monthsโ€ฆ

I decided to get a coach myself

STOP DOING THESE โŒ

If youโ€™re currently working towards sustainable weight loss and youโ€™re not seeing results from the work you're putting in ๐Ÿคฏ

Chances are youโ€™re doing one of these 3 ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

1.) Cutting all the foods you enjoy

If youโ€™re doing this then youโ€™re laying the foundations to not succeed. How are you going to stick to something that will be stressful at times by removing any possibility in your meals of enjoyment out of the picture! Simply, you wonโ€™t and you might stick to it for a week or so but once their cravings creep up on you and life happens, some stressful events might happen then you probably will find yourself back to square one eating all the tasty foods youโ€™ve demonised from the start! Overeating, binging and being back to square one!

2.) Guesstimating foods ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

This can be a certain killer of progress especially if youโ€™re just beginning your journey! Even people who have been working on themselves for a long time will only be able to eyeball their meals to an extent! Even then Iโ€™d bet itโ€™s still nowhere near 100%! When working towards weight loss weโ€™re going to be in a deficit regardless of how big it is. Itโ€™s going to be a fine margin. Can you look at that spoon of Bischoff spread and tell yourself itโ€™s 15g? I definitely canโ€™t ๐Ÿ˜…

3.) Thinking cardio is the solution to your weight loss!

To be honest thereโ€™s is a million better ways to do it that arenโ€™t boring and will produce much better results for yourself! For beginners, I know first hand how common this is and to be fair if youโ€™re not educated then you wouldnโ€™t no better!

But what youโ€™re going to want to do is get yourself into a real resistance training plan, whether thatโ€™s weights, body weight. Build up a solid foundation, improve your strength build lean tissue and sculpt your body to your desired goal. Although it wonโ€™t happen overnight. It definitely wonโ€™t happen if you donโ€™t start ๐Ÿ˜‰

But if youโ€™re wanting to get started and ahead of the curve then now might just be the best time to start!

For a lot, the gyms can be an intimated place to be especially if youโ€™re new to the gym.

Come January the gyms are going to be rammed, everyone is going to be on it.

Whether or not they stick to it is another question

Even going to a new gym I still get nervous now and itโ€™s normal so please donโ€™t let it put you off!

If you do want to start now there are so many positives you can take with you going into the new year;

โœ… You wonโ€™t have to start in a gym already full which could be that little bit more intimidating

โœ… You will know to navigate the gym and make sure what you are doing is beneficial to your goals

โœ… You could make some quite substantial progress towards your goal

Thatโ€™s just a few to sayโ€ฆ

taking lots of small steps over time. โœ…

Introduce one or two small, sustainable steps that move you closer to your goals.

These could be as simple as increasing your step count each day, drinking more water,upping your veggie intake, or even tracking your calories.

Turn your unhealthy habits into healthy habits over time!

If you have ever heard the term habit stacking, you will understand that adding in small habits weekly leads to giant leaps over time.

health and fitness while dropping body fat.

Add one or two healthy habits to your daily routine each week to aid your weight loss efforts.

Before you know it, you will have taken a giant leap towards your weight loss goals.

If your goals weight loss youโ€™re not going to do yourself any favours getting stuck in a Parmo every weekend

Youโ€™ve got to make the small changes to work in your favours ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Knock the weekly takeaway to fortnightly โœ…

Shop for low-calorie versions of your favourites treats and keep your kitchen stocked up with them โœ…

Swap them full-fat drinks out for zero alternatives I think they all taste better anyway and theyโ€™re going to cost nothing out of your daily intake โœ…

Once you understand the habits that got you where you are now, you canโ€™t rectify that with the small changes to get you right where you want to be ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
