It's tournament season and what a week - making 2 finals in the space of a week is fantastic. ⚽️

Massive congratulations to all the kids for making the their first ever cup final last weekend, great achievement, they worked that hard getting there but they just ran out of steam in the final but can’t fault their effort - well done team! 👏

A huge well done to Owen, Alex and Dom for stepping up and helping out in goal 🙌

Well done to our silent assassin - Isaac - for getting Player of the Tournament his energy and work rate was outstanding, never stopped running and winning them tackles! Well done Isaac!💪

Today, in very wet conditions, the team reached their 2nd tournament final. A huge achievement again and this just shows the progress the squad are making.

Massive well done to Logan who walked away with Player of the Tournament today. After training with the team for a whole season, we're looking forward to welcoming you in to the squad officially, you were absolutely solid at the back throughout both tournaments! 👏

And finally, shout out to Great Ayton, who were very graceful in their victory - congratulations on your win! 🏆

On Saturday, the team took part in their first Redcar Athletic presentation day. A great turn out for the squad made it an enjoyable afternoon. The coaches proudly spoke of the players and how they coped with the stop start season of 23/24. Players collected their trophies and Graham, Mark and Anth gave out additional awards:

With all players making improvements throughout the season, a number of players could have been in the running for this award but, Charlie H deservedly took this seasons accolade of Most Improved Player. Playing a year up and the smallest player in the squad, Charlie turns up every game, he gives his all and doesn't stand off any tackle! Well done Charlie 👏

The accolade of Players Player went to Austin, a fearless defensive midfielder, also playing a year up, Austin plays out brilliantly from the back and he's grown in confidence over the season shown in the votes from his fellow players. Well done Austin 👏

And last but not least, our Captain Owen took the honour of Coaches Player of the season. Both on and off the pitch, Owen is a key player, strongly holding the back line and directing the team whilst always leading by example. Owen is the first player on and off the pitch to put his arm round another player to help get their head back up when dropped. He's always encouraging the team to show good sportsmanship, focus and team play. Well done Owen 👏

Today, many of the team turned out to support our coaches, Graham and Mark, as they took part in the Dave Peacock Charity Match down at Redcar Athletic.

The kids walked out with the players, shouted and cheered from the sideline and celebrated the win with coaches!

What a great afternoon.

Thankfully the weather held out for the team this week. Catching up on postponed games, we started off on Tuesday with an away game against Seaton Carew. A fast paced game, which worked our defence hard. An unfortunate own goal saw us go down 1-0 at half time. The second half, again saw our defence working hard and it finished with a 2-0 defeat.

Our Captain and Centre Back, Owen, took the MOTM title, guiding the backline and encouraging the rest of the team, Owen helped to keep the scoreline down and the team's head's up! Well done Owen 👏

Thursday, we headed in the opposite direction over to Great Ayton and what an exciting game with both teams playing some really great football! In the first half, after a tough battle in midfield, Austin broke free, made the run, playing a cracking pass to Alfie which saw us go 1-0 ahead. Not long after, Great Ayton made the break and equalised. The second half saw an exciting push for a winning goal from both sides but some cracking saves from Kye and some unlucky attempts at goal saw the game end 1-1 with Kye deservedly taking the MOTM title. Well done Kye! 👏
