A brisk cold morning for our "away" game vs Riverside Barca

Barca took an early lead when the ball bobbled around in the area and was poke home

But the boy's heads didn't drop and it proved when Redcar equalised with a fine left foot strike from Theo R

Redcar took the lead when the ball was played out to Jay on the right side of the box who fired across the keeper in to the top corner

Redcar took that lead in to half time

Redcar started off the second half well and Harrison was called on a few times with some vital blocks and good kicking to alleviate the pressure

Bobby playing up front kept their defence busy all game dragging their centre backs all over the pitch making room for the rest of the Redcar team to exploit

Jacob played in a couple of positions throughout the game and played well throughout with some good tackles and clearances

Redcar extended their lead when a corner was swung in and bounced up and was unfortunately put in to their own net

Further good attacking play from Redcar lead to Bobby and Tom combining and Tom finishing in to the bottom corner.

The defence held firm at the other end with Joe and Harry keeping their attackers quiet after their early goal.

The coaches did their research and got the tactics spot on to make sure Barcas best players were not allowed to control the game as Redcar came out on top in every area of the pitch.

Full time and a great win for Redcar

An early start and a long drive on a cold frosty morning to start Sunday

Before the match a minutes silence was impeccably observed.

The game started well for Redcar with them on the front foot throughout the first half, unfortunately we came up against a stubborn defence and a great goalkeeper who kept Aycliffe level.

A long ball over the top by the Aycliffe defence sprung the offside trap and left their striker through on goal and they finished well.

Shortly after another breakaway goal from Aycliffe lead to them doubling their lead.

Both goals totally against the run of play.

Redcar pulled one back when Jay finished well from a corner.

Half time

Bobby was given the chance in goal in the 2nd half with Theo R going on to the left wing

Redcar contained to create chances but we're thwarted by the defence and a mini prime Peter Schmeichel in goal!

As the half went on Redcar pushed more and more forward for an equaliser and despite Bobby's best efforts in goal Aycliffe managed to get a third. And straight from kick off they added a fourth.

Redcar kept pushing though and made more chances but again the keeper was equal to everything we could throw at them.

Bobby made more valuable saves and clearances to keep the score down but time ran out for Redcar

A bright cool morning and an away game at our training ground await our U11 Blues

A toe injury sustained to Theo R in his rest week meant he took up the reins in goal

Redcar started well and deservedly took the lead after good build up play resulted in a ball across the box falling to Arthur who drove the ball home

There was few chances for both teams with Theo R more than equal to anything Prissick could throw at him as the defence held firm

Redcar took their lead in to the break

Theo continued to excel in goal to keep Redcar in the lead

Unfortunately Redcar were unable to add to their lead and pressure from Prissick ended up with them finding the equaliser

Both teams had chances to win it with Harrison forcing a smart save and Jayden firing just wide

A draw probably a fair result as Redcar go 2 games unbeaten and the poor start to the season is long forgotten.

Onwards to Newton Aycliffe for next week's challenge

A cool bright sunny morning at Green Lane brought that winning feeling back to RAU11Bs

An attacking start for redcar saw them win a sucession of corners, a brilliant cross by Jayden was expertly hammered home on the volley by Theo R!

An awesome save by Jakey unfortunately fell to the feet of Thirks striker to tapped in for 1-1

The boys heads did not drop though and they continued to dominate, they found the lead again when Tom went on a mazy run and nearly burst the net.

Half time brought a number of subs for both teams, which left Thirsk with 10 men on the pitch for a long period. You wouldn't have known though with the way the boys played.

Arthur found the ball midway in their half took a couple of steps and struck a thunderbolt of a shot which their keeper could only watch sail past him.

Theo W made a number of saves to keep Thirsk out and the attack did the rest.

Tom scored again when he took out most of their defence and left the keeper on the ground.

Theo was slipped in again on the left channel and finished like a seasoned Pro.

This obviously annoyed Thirsks defence who's next action was to try to snap Theo in two, taking a stud to the knee!

Thirsk got one back with nearly the last kick of the game.

The game was won but could have been double figures for redcar!

Every boy played their part in the first win of the season including Harrison joing his team on the sideline despite being out injured.

And a glowing report for the new caterers at the junior club house

Great to see ear to ear smiles on these boys!
