As a club we are very focused on providing accessibility to the whole community to the game of Rugby. As a player or supporter, we offer many ways for the individual or family to get involved. From 4 years old Boys and Girls, to Ladies and Gentlemen up t

o and exceeding 35+, we have a team that will welcome you at all skill levels. If you wish to spectate - we offer a great program of games - league, cup, tournaments, huge TV for major matches / sporting events - all in a friendly, family environment with hot and cold refreshments readily available. We offer great facilities for hire also - be it a business meeting, social gathering, conference, training course, party, wedding reception, music venue....we provide a well stocked licensed bar and a variety of catering packages are available and prepared fresh in house. We really can accommodate most requirements – just give us a call.

We are incredibly proud of members Kev Rackley and Colin Young who were at Twickenham for a nomination of Volunteer of Year 🏆

Although they didn’t win, we are incredibly proud as a club of just how amazing these two members are. They are absolute winners in our eyes 🏅 Sir Bill Beaumont agrees too 😉

ANYONE ELSE MISS RUGBY?

The wait is over, 2 rugby events happening on the same day! At Holme Park, Walking Rugby and Brigands show off the rugby skills in a tournament and match not to be missed.

In Petersfield RFC today is the first Men’s friendly 🍾 Beyond excited to have the rugby ball rolling once more! Will you be there supporting the boys?

“It is my privilege to announce that David Osbourne is our new Vice-Chairman. 🏆

David is a true clubman and has been playing, coaching and supporting Reading RFC since the mid-80s. He has kindly accepted the role to support me and the club as we continue our journey into the next chapter.

You will see David across all rugby sections, at events, gathering feedback and supporting every section.

A message from your Chairman.

“As we come to the end of an incredible summer, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, members, and staff for your time, dedication, and unwavering support. It has been genuinely overwhelming to see what we’ve achieved together.
If you’ve visited the club over the last few months, you would have seen and felt changes. With our fantastic new fencing, the green grass (thanks to our brilliant watering team!), and just how tidy and welcoming the club has become.
These improvements however were only possible because of the amazing people who give their time to make our club so special.
We’re also excited to welcome our new coaches as we head into the new season, and there’s so much more exciting things still to come.
Thank you again for your continued support. We can’t wait to see you all at our wonderful club!”

🚨THIS SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER🚨

We would love for you to join us at the Brigands Festival from 11am on Saturday 5th September.

The Berkshire Brigands are an inclusive touch rugby team for people with disabilities and learning difficulties. The festival this weekend will bring players together for a day of inclusive rugby fun, food and music!

Come along on Saturday to support the friendly faces you see around the rugby club and get back into the swing of Rugby Season, it’s almost upon us!

Simon joined the Reading girls’ U15s coaching section after the Berkshire cluster group were disbandened. He imediately became a key part of the team, helping the Reading girls to grow, alongside his friend and fellow coach Doug McArthur. His personality came out in his coaching, he was calm and supportive with a competitiveness that drove the teams he coached. His kindness and approachability made him an easy team member and endeared him to all.

We were all saddened to hear when he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. His fight against it was incredable, a campaign, ‘Give Simon Time’ showed how much he meant to everyone. It raised over £300k. The treatment gave Simon nearly 3 more years with his family.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. Please, allow the familly time and space to grieve.
