Is this how you do your overhead press?

It's one of the most common mistakes I see on this lift. The moment your ribs flare and your lower back arches. Over time, that puts a lot of unnecessary load through the lumbar spine.

Quick fixes:
Brace your core before you press, like you are about to take a light punch to the stomach
Squeeze your glutes to stop your pelvis tipping forward
Keep your ribs stacked over your hips rather than flaring up

Strict, controlled reps with a lighter load will build far more useful strength than a heavier weight pressed with a compensated spine.

Save this for your next shoulder day, and tag a training partner who needs to see it.

It is not about hitting some perfect line every single rep. Nobody presses like a robot. It is about knowing where that line is, so when you drift from it under fatigue, you notice and reset instead of letting it become the norm.

Keep the bar stacked over your midfoot the whole way up. Ribs down, glutes braced, press in a straight line rather than around your head.

Save this for your next press day and film yourself from the side. The bar path never lies.
Where do you tend to drift, the first rep or the last? Let me know below.

Push-ups are one of the most common exercises and one of the most commonly done wrong.

Save this if you want to fix your form for good πŸ“Œ

Here's what to check:

βœ… Elbows at roughly 45Β°, not flared out to 90Β°
βœ… Wrists stacked directly under your elbows
βœ… Full body braced in one straight line, head to heel

Small tweaks like these protect your shoulders and make every rep count.

Boosting Workforce Wellness: The Impact of Corporate Fitness Programmes in Reading

In today's fast-paced work environment, the importance of maintaining a healthy, engaged workforce in Reading cannot be overstated. Local companies are increasingly recognising the value of corporate fitness programmes as a vital component of enhancing employee well-being and productivity.

Regular physical activity contributes significantly to employees' health, leading to reduced stress levels, improved mood, and greater overall satisfaction. Businesses across Reading that promote wellness initiatives find that when employees feel good mentally and physically, they are more focused, energised, and productive.

Fitness initiatives also foster a sense of community within the workplace. Group activities not only promote teamwork but also strengthen relationships among colleagues, creating a positive workplace culture. In Reading, companies that incorporate fitness programmes often see a boost in employee morale, which can translate into better collaboration and innovation.

Moreover, organisations in Reading that prioritise employee wellness attract top talent and enjoy lower turnover rates. In a competitive job market, particularly with the booming tech and service industries in the area, demonstrating a commitment to health can set a company apart from its competitors.

Additionally, healthier employees tend to have lower absenteeism rates, saving organisations money and ensuring continuity in operations. By encouraging a healthy work-life balance through fitness programmes, Reading companies can cultivate happier, healthier workplaces, ultimately leading to enhanced business success.

Promoting fitness not only benefits employees but also strengthens the community, making Reading a healthier, more vibrant place to work and live.

✨ We often claim we don't have enough time, but it's all about priorities. If something truly matters to us, like fitness, we can make time for it. Consider watching one hour less of TV or going to bed an hour earlier to wake up for the gym. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ
