The Reading Amateur Regatta brings exciting rowing to the Thames in Reading. The Regatta has a long history ( it was established in 1842) and is now recognised as a major Regatta leading up to Henley Royal Regatta. As such, results achieved by crews at the Reading Amateur Regatta contribute to Henley qualifying status. In addition, with the regatta being held in the weekend before Henley Women’s R

egatta, top international women’s crews use Reading Amateur Regatta as their final warm-up event. The format of racing is a buoyed two lane course rowed downstream, starting from stakeboats and with bank umpiring. On Saturday the race distance is 1500 metres, whilst on Sunday this is reduced to 1100 metres (which is slightly over the distance from Fawley to the finish of the Henley Royal Regatta course).
