Happy to be teaching this new kenjutsu class in Farnham this term.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and hopefully a few new faces.

Shintaido is a joyful health exercise which is accessible to all. The movements are a mixture of gentle and energising which refreshes our body, mind and spirit.

Starting in mid-September, we will be introducing sword practice alongside 'open hand' movements.

You’ll be warmly welcome to drop in and try it out! Message us here with any questions 😃

I’ve started teaching an online Shintaido Bojutsu class.
Bojutsu is the art of using a long staff, or bo, similar to an English quarter staff.
The aim is to help those interested in learning bojutsu through self study, rather than to lead regular practice sessions (it’s quite difficult to handle a long staff on Zoom!).
To this end I’ve set up a series of monthly meetings, usually on the first Monday of the month at 11am UK time.
During each meeting I will introduce a small number of new techniques and set homework for the month ahead. We will also review the previous month’s homework.
Students need to be committed to regular practice between each session. They also need a suitable long staff (for outdoor practice) and a short staff (for indoor use and Zoom sessions).
Sessions are facilitated via a WhatsApp group.
If you are interested please message me for further advice and Instructions.

Bojutsu practice led by me on the beach at San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. The wind was wonderful but took its toll after a 2 hour keiko!

This autumn I'll be making myself available for informal bojutsu (long staff) practice eaarly on Monday mornings in Clayfield Copse. Turn up, with a staff if you have one, at 7.30am.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to teach a bojutsu class over Zoom.
What do you think?
How could it work?
Would there be any demand?
With the current situation seeming to have no end could it provide a welcome distraction for some?
Comments and thoughts please!
