This weekend our members took part in the 'Big Garden Birdwatch' before swapping binoculars for bouyancy aids as they headed out for some chilly, but rewarding, winter sailing.

It’s been a busy weekend for our sailors!

🌊 Saturday: Three sailors set off to Poole Harbour, making the most of good winds (and luckily, limited rain). They enjoyed a scenic sail over to Brownsea Island for a picnic before heading back.

🏆 Sunday: Six sailors travelled to Goring for the much-anticipated return match against Goring Thames Sailing Club. The early rain cleared just in time, leaving us with summer-like conditions and light winds—perfect for two challenging and enjoyable races. While the trophy wasn’t ours this time, the day was full of good sailing, great company, and some tasty treats to finish.

👏 Well done to everyone who took part!

On Saturday, a brave crew took 8 boats down to TISC for an away day full of sun, sailing, and (slightly soggy for some) sandwiches. We launched from Thorney Island, meandered to East Head Beach for lunch and a very British swim (read: cold but mandatory), then cruised around toward Hayling Island before docking back at TISC for well-earned snacks and “hydration” (aka drinks 🍻).

Massive thanks to our wonderful hosts at TISC — you gave us your waters, your snacks, and while there were a couple of capsizes no one got marooned (for too long)... so that’s a win in our book.

Already counting the days until next year 🙌
