Our Tuesday Theatre Jazzers had a hoot learning this sizzling Too Darn Hot number last week with their wonderful cover teacher Gina! Nice work guys, you kept very busy!! Thank you so much Gina for stepping in! 👏🏻👏🏻

We’re missing our lovely Theatre Jazz teacher Emily who is away currently completing her RAD licentiate in London, but she’ll be back very soon! ❤️

Yesterday our Silver Swans, Theatre Jazzers and Low-Impact Jazzers had the pleasure of entertaining the crowds at St Nicolas Church Summer Fair! 🌥️

It seemed like an extra special rural touring event for us for a few reasons…

Firstly, it took place in the venue where we actually dance each week and have built a lovely community in, and so we had so many of our friends there to support us 🥰

Secondly, we had three super special solos from our dancers -a first for them and us! ✨👏🏻

And finally, because, after a year or two of touring around Berkshire and London, it would be the last time our Mondo Bongo and Don’t Leave Me This Way routines would be performed in the UK. This time in three weeks we’ll be on a plane to perform in Athens! 🇬🇧✈️🇬🇷

Thank you so all who came to watch our dancing, to our friends at for inviting us and being so accommodating, and to all our fabulous dancers who are learning to adapt to unique performance spaces like seasoned professionals! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tomorrow we’re set to perform at the St Nicolas Church Summer Fair and the weather is not looking promising, but that doesn’t put us off! If anything it makes us cast our minds back to our first EVER performance 5 years ago, 2021, as we were just coming out of the final lockdown…

It was a very cold, windy and wet day 🌧️ Our nervous Silver Swans presented a simple adage sequence alongside some audience participation at Thatcham Town Council’s Visions of Recovery art installation event, coordinated by 🌟

Had we not had battled the elements that day in our first ever public airing, Manuela at Emergency Exit Arts would have never known to invite us to perform in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in London the following summer! 🇬🇧

And what an honour and unforgettable experience that was, dancing past London’s largest landmarks, of course not forgetting the royal box at Buckingham Palace! A day we’ve wished we could relive ever since! (Come on Charles, have a party so we can do it again) ❤️🌈👑🇬🇧

Whilst our first performance was rather modest, tomorrow we have double the number of dancers and an entire set list of 7 numbers! It’ll be a final public practice before we fly to Athens to perform in a few weeks!

So if you fancy coming along to support us, bring your brolly 🌂 and watch us at 1.30pm at St Nicolas Church on Sutcliffe Avenue in Earley ☔️

Cheers to the wonderful art form that is tap dance! Thank you for our hoofers who paved the way, and a woop-woop to those who are keeping the tradition going today! Let’s keep tap dance alive!🔥

That’s right, we have concluded another fabulous term of dancing here at DWSB 🍾

Over the past 6 weeks we’ve featured in a documentary film, an epic tap performance, a puppet parade, made summer theatre plans, RAD masterclass announcements, and of course, many arrangements for our upcoming tour to Athens. Not to mention the work that our students have been putting in during their lessons! 😅🕺🏻

That being said, a new term is upon us commencing on 1st June and so now is your chance to join us for a trial! 🤗

We usually only open trial classes for the first 2-weeks of term to support our learning structures so book in soon! 🏎️💨
