It’s been a while… so let us introduce ourselves! 🤗

I’m Sonia 👋🏻 I’m the founder of DWSB and I teach our Silver Swans, Low-Impact Tap, Low-Impact Jazz, Tappy Hour & Advanced Tap classes!

My background is in musical theatre 👐🏻 I trained at Bird College & Trinity Laban before performing professionally.

Last year I completed the Royal Academy of Dance’s MA in Education (Dance Teaching). I received distincion and was awarded the Professor Joan White Prize for “outstanding achievement” in my final research thesis which specialised in dance for older adults. My MAE earned me RAD registered teacher status.

I am obsessed with dancing! I hope my students agree that my enthusiasm for technique, expression, choreography, and creating new dance opportunities comes through in my teaching! 💕

Next up we have Emily 👋🏻 She teaches our Rebel Ballet, RAD G4, Theatre Jazz, Advanced Ballet & Power & Pointe classes!

Emily has just completed the Royal Academy of Dance’s BA (Hons) in Ballet Education, alongside the RAD licentiate… so she’s super hot on progressive ballet teaching! She has a calming nature with a super keen eye for technical detail 👌🏼

In the year Emily has been teaching for us it’s been wonderful to see her teacher development and her passion for teaching adults grow - she couldn’t wait to start her new Newbury classes and is chomping at the bit to add more! Stay tuned!

Excitingly we’ll be attending our RAD graduation together in a few weeks! Woop woop! 🙌🏼

And of course we have Erin! 👋🏻 She’ll be teaching our Theatre Tap, Theatre Jazz and BYOBaby classes!

Erin has a musical theatre background having received a 1st class BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Triple Threat at the University of Chichester🥇 After graduating she travelled to upstate NY to work as a dance counsellor before completing an MA in Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding 📚

Whilst dance teaching is no longer her full time job, Erin was desperate to return part-time after having her baby (baby will be attending BYOBaby for those joining 🙌🏼) Erin’s classes are bursting with energy so we’re delighted to kickstart them next week!

Here at DWSB we ADORE ballet! ❤️

Our belief is that ballet can be enjoyed by those who AREN’T aspiring professionals, possess a “ballerina physique”, or have a certain anatomical facility to execute the movements.

Our believe is that ballet is adaptable to fit individual needs, can be learnt from any age up to any age, and can be made fun in-line with a 2026 audience!

We’re delighted to be offering 5 different types of adult ballet class, from pop-loving, to traditionalist, to over-50s! 🪩🩰🧑🏼‍🩰🦢

It’s always super special when we get to hang out with our wonderful patron Ｊｏｓｈｙ Ｂｏｙ 🇹🇴 🇬🇧 ❤️ -especially when you get to dance together too!

Our dancers, aka Silver Vixens, had a fabulous time in Josh’s The Silver Fox | Ballet Workshops last Sunday at the Silver Swans Celebration! He always brings a brilliant experience that leaves our dancers buzzing for days! 🌟🌟🌟

So good to see you Josh, and we can’t wait to see you again soon! ❤️

Super proud of my Silver Swans this term ❤️ I’ve really challenged them with this ‘centre practice’ exercise which looks easy… but I can assure you it’s not! 😅

Not only did we have our balance to contend with all whilst changing legs, but we truly tested our coordination with arm directions that didn’t always align with our feet.

We’re on the pursuit of drilling ballet patterns! The more familiar these patterns become, the easier we can pick up new exercise choreography! 🙌🏼

Superb work Swans! 🦢 You should be super proud of yourselves. As I mentioned to some of you, this exercise of mine is giving old RAD vocational grade vibes! Not as easy as it looks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
