Thatcham Tornadoes Football Club Thatcham Tornadoes FC - a 3 Star FA Accredited Club championing Grassroots Football in Thatcham Our Mens Team play in the Newbury Sunday League.

Thatcham Tornadoes Football Club is a Charter Standard Development Club providing football for boys and girls aged 6 to 18 in Thatcham and the surrounding area. We also have a Mens Team who are very committed on the pitch but also very social. The club is a voluntary organisation funded by subscriptions from its members, valued sponsors, the generosity of parents and the goodwill of supporters. A

ffiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA, the Club is represented by teams in the Peter Houseman Youth League in Basingstoke, Reading & West Berkshire Leagues, Oxford Mail Youth Leagues, Berkshire County Girls Football Leagues and the South Chiltern Minor League based in Reading.

PLAYERS WANTED: U14s for 2026/27 Season
Current School Year 8 (Year 9 from Sept 2026)

Thatcham Tornadoes U14 Jaguars (for 2026/27 season) are looking for a couple more players to join the team ready for the new season. The team played in Div 2 in the PHYL in 2025/26.

Training is on a Thursday evening, on astro under floodlights over winter. Home matches will be at Henwick on Sundays.

Thatcham Tornadoes U7 Lions enjoyed another tournament the other weekend at the Eldon Celtic Tournament.

They were entered into the Championship Cup and after topping our group, beat Barton Rovers 2-0 in the final to take home the trophy.

A massive well done to our incredible U6 Cubs who had the best day ever playing in the 3v3 festival organised by Goals! Reading. We entered six teams into the festival, and every single player loved their morning of football.

Our coaches highlighted the massive improvement in the players since their very first festival back in April. This weekend, every single player was passing, scoring, and working incredibly hard for each other. It was amazing to watch them all play with such joy and determination.

A massive thank you to all our new coaching team who have embraced the whole FutureFit 3v3 philosophy and working wonders with our Cubs. Thanks too to Goals! Reading for organising this festival - all our players, coaches and parents loved it.

TORNADO OF THE YEAR - U15 LIONESSES

Lyra has had an outstanding season. She scored some big goals, loads of assists and goal saving tackles.

The key difference for her this season though, was that she started to believe in herself. Lyra has always had the talent but this season she matched that talent with a self confidence that shone every week.

She played a huge role in our league-cup double winning season and received the Player of the Match in the BCGFL Cup Final.

TORNADO OF THE YEAR - U13 TIGERS

Charlie has been an integral part of the team this season. His consistent performances week in, week out have been outstanding. He brings fantastic technique to the game, and his ability to read play sets him apart time and time again.

But what really makes Charlie special is his attitude. In training and on match days, he sets the standard for everyone else. He encourages his teammates, supports them, and is always the first to praise others when they do well. That kind of leadership is invaluable.

Not only has Charlie been a fantastic player for us this season, but most importantly, he’s a fantastic lad. He’s an absolute delight to have around the team and represents everything we want this team to stand for.

A huge thank you to the Red House at Highclere for hosting our U13 Tigers families last weekend for their end-of-season celebration.

The venue generously opened up its facilities to the team and kept our players fully fueled with delicious pizza and soft drinks.

Thatcham Tornadoes U9 Lionesses displayed remarkable resilience at last weekend's EC7 FC Tournament at Newbury Rugby Club, overcoming a challenging group stage that included a standout performance against the eventual tournament winners.

After finishing third in the group, the team rallied to reach the 'plate' final, where they took an early lead before a brilliant free kick from the opposition forced a tense, sudden-death penalty shootout.

The girls held their nerve to secure a hard-fought victory, capping off an impressive tournament performance that highlighted their growing talent and amazing team spirit.

Well done girls - your parents and coaches couldn't be prouder!
