The KLV-C team finished the league season with a trip to Reading needing 6 pts to avoid fear of dropping down. The heavy rain delayed things for a while, so much so we almost accepted a no play 5 pts each ....... not ideal for us. Luckily the sun returned and we managed to play 9 ends. The good news is the team came away with a really good 8-2 win overall score 36- 18. A good way to end season and good to stay in this league. Wasn't looking good halfway through the season but a good 2nd half got us there.

Fresh from the win at Wokingham on Monday the KLV-C team were back on Friday playing Suttons (currently clear at the top if the league) at home. MEBC were beaten 8-2. Overall score 38-68 to Suttons . With one match to play it's still tight in the table. Probably need 5 points to survive so likely to be a nervy day at Reading on Thursday.

On Friday the KLV-C team played at home to Twyford hoping to carry on our decent run, but sadly not. We lost to Twyford 43-61 and 2-8 points. Makes the upcoming Wokingham a key game, lets hope for a win, may need a convincing one.

24th August 2024 - KL Div 2 Final v Lambourn. Having secured the Div 2 East title, we took on Lambourn, the Winners of Division 2 West. The match was played at Reading, who were great hosts, laying on a generous spread for the players after the game, A very close fought match throughout came down to the final bowl of the last end, with the overall match tied, but Lambourn holding one! Mike Fraser’s final bowl needed to promote his earlier bowl to shot and hit the desired target forward ………… but it just rolled wide!
So we lost by one shot, which was a great effort, if an ultimately disappointing result against a very strong team.
Well done, team, for a very successful season and an exciting finale!
Rink scores: 15-21, 20-15, 14-18 and 14-10, Skips: Mark Hiley, Mike Fraser, Mike Lewis and Keith Hawkins.
