Update 22nd January 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following my previous update, I wanted to provide some further clarity regarding credits, make-up lessons and refunds.

All lessons missed due to the pool closure have been credited in full and will be honoured via make-up lessons once swimming resumes, which is currently expected to be from the week commencing 9th February, subject to final confirmation from the school.

Make-up lessons will be scheduled gradually across existing classes and additional sessions where space allows, with families holding higher credit balances prioritised. Due to the scale of the closure, credits may need to be carried forward beyond the current term to ensure lessons can be delivered safely and fairly.

At this stage, refunds are not being issued, as we are confident that reasonable make-up opportunities can be provided over time in line with our policy.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this prolonged disruption, which remains outside of our control. We will be in touch with further details once lessons are confirmed to restart.

Important update 14th January 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

I wanted to share a further update following new information received today from Brookfields School regarding the ongoing swimming pool repairs.

Unfortunately, the school has advised that there has been a delay in the delivery of specialist parts required for the air handling unit. As a result, repair works are now scheduled to take place from Monday 26th January to Friday 30th January 2026. Following this, additional remedial and safety checks will be required, including electrical and fire system reinstatement.

At this stage, the school has advised that pool hire is unlikely to resume until the week commencing 9th February 2026. While this is disappointing news, lessons will not restart until the pool has been fully confirmed as safe and operational.

I completely understand how frustrating this continued disruption is for families, particularly with several lessons already affected. Please be assured that any lessons unable to go ahead will be credited and carried forward in line with our normal policy, and no action is needed from you at this time.

We remain in regular contact with Brookfields School and will continue to update you as soon as further information becomes available. Thank you very much for your patience, understanding, and continued support during this situation, which remains outside of our control.

We truly look forward to welcoming swimmers back to lessons as soon as we are able to do so safely.

Update 3rd January 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

I wanted to provide you with a further update regarding the swimming pool repairs at Brookfields School.

We had hoped to be returning to lessons this week; however, repairs at the pool are still ongoing and we are currently awaiting confirmation from the school as to when the pool will be ready to reopen. At this stage, it is unfortunately unclear whether lessons will be able to resume as planned.

I appreciate how frustrating this continued uncertainty is, particularly given the number of lessons already affected. Please be assured that we are in regular contact with Brookfields School and are doing everything we can to obtain clarity as soon as possible.

Any lessons that are unable to go ahead will be credited and carried forward in line with our normal policy. No action is needed from you at this time.

Update - 15th December

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have emailed you 🙂

Thank you for your patience while we work through the recent pool closures and the resulting lesson cancellations.

We have also been dealing with an unexpected family emergency, which has delayed responses while we ensured everything was handled properly. Thank you for your understanding during this time.

We are currently finalising lesson credits for affected families. These credits will be applied in line with our normal policy and will be reflected on upcoming fees due or carried forward to future terms where applicable.

If you have already rebooked and paid for the January–March term, any applicable credits will be applied to a subsequent term. If you have not yet paid, credits will be deducted from your next fee due.

For families who do not plan to continue with lessons and have requested a refund for cancelled lessons, these are also being processed and will be completed shortly.

Urgent Lesson Update 27th November 2025

Brookfields Have Confirmed That The Fault With The Air Handling Unit Has Been Diagnosed. The Parts Required Need To Be Sourced By The Engineer Which May Take A Couple Of Weeks. The Pool Will Remain Closed Until It Is Safe To Reopen.

As We Are Due To Finish Lessons On 18th December, This Will Mean That We Cannot Resume Lessons Before The Christmas School Holidays.

We Realise This Is Very Disappointing And Inconvenient, For Which We Are Extremely Sorry. Sadly This Is Beyond Our Control.

We Can Offer Refunds For The Cancelled Lessons, Or Next Term We Can Offer Additional Lessons. We Will Be Able To Offer Mondays Through To Sundays And Will Be Flexible With What Works For You.

We Hope That We Will See Your Child Again From January, Where We Can Continue To Teach Them To Swim, Which We Are Proud To Do.

Lessons Have Been Unavailable Since 20th November, With Some Cancellations And Scheduled Make Up Lessons Prior To This Date That We Owe You.

We Will Make Sure You Receive A Refund Or Additional Lessons.

With Regards To Your Childs Stage From January, This Will Be Their Current Stage, With A Review In The First Half Of The Term To See If They Are Ready To Change To The Next Stage.
