🏆🏓 KINGFISHER PLAYERS SHINE FOR TEAM SOUTH EAST AT THE U11 & U13 PATHWAY DEVELOPMENT CUP 🏓🏆

Kingfisher Table Tennis Academy Reading players played a key role in Team South East’s outstanding performance at the Table Tennis England U11 & U13 Pathway Development Cup.

The South East teams enjoyed a fantastic weekend, winning both U11 titles and securing third-place finishes in both U13 competitions.

The U11 Girls produced a flawless campaign, winning all three matches to take the title. Swara Mahabhashyam led the way with a perfect 4 wins from 4 matches, while Navya Pathak added an impressive 3 wins from 4 and Spruha Yesi contributing equally in the success.

The U11 Boys were equally dominant, completing an unbeaten tournament with five wins from five matches. Ayansh Pahwa and Noah Clarke were among the competition’s standout performers, each winning 9 of their 10 matches and finishing with a superb 90% win record.

In the U13 Girls event, Rabani Ahluwalia delivered one of the strongest individual performances of the tournament, winning 8 of her 10 matches (80%) to help South East secure a well-earned bronze medal.

The U13 Boys also finished on the podium in third place, with Ayansh Pahwa, Daniel Michel Delgado and Arjun Tomar all contributing important victories against strong regional opposition.

Several players also successfully competed above their age group, demonstrating both their talent and potential within the South East pathway programme.

These results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of all the players, coaches and families involved. Everyone at Kingfisher Table Tennis Academy Reading is incredibly proud of the players for representing both the club and Team South East with such skill, determination and sportsmanship.

*Rishaan Impresses at U19 National Championships*

At just *13 years old*​, Rishaan​ entered the U19 National Championships as a wildcard and seeded last in his group — but exceeded expectations with a remarkable tournament run.

He topped his group with wins over the 8th, 9th, and 11th seeds, before defeating the 20th seed in the knockout stage. His run ended in the quarterfinals, where he lost to the 14th seed.

In doubles, Rishaan and his eBatt partner Oscar produced one of the tournament’s biggest upsets by defeating the 2nd seeds 3–1. The pair went on to *secure a bronze medal after a semifinal loss to the eventual runners-up.​*

*A standout performance from Rishaan, competing against players up to six years older, and further evidence of his exciting potential.​*

Day 1: Table Tennis England School Nationals – A Proud Day for Kingfisher

It was an incredible and action-packed day at the Table Tennis England School Nationals 2026, with Kingfisher proudly represented by 12 talented players competing across multiple categories. Every player displayed determination, resilience, and true fighting spirit in each match.

Representing Kingfisher were Swara, Sophie, Noah, Ayansh, Rabani, Aevya, Rishaan, Chloe, Grace, Soumyajit, Helim, and Prayrit — all of whom gave their very best on the national stage.

Special congratulations to our medal winners:

Swara – 🥉Bronze medal (U11 category)
Rishaan – 🥇Gold medal (U13 category)
Prayrit – 🥉Bronze medal (U19 category)

Each player demonstrated outstanding effort, sportsmanship, and commitment throughout the competition. It was a proud moment for Kingfisher to witness such strong performances and representation at a national level.

Day 2: Table Tennis England School Team Nationals

Kingfisher Club (Berkshire) was proudly represented by three teams from Reading School and Kendrick School in the Table Tennis England School Team Nationals, competing in the U16 Boys, U19 Boys, and U16 Girls categories. All teams performed exceptionally well, competing among the top 8 teams nationally.

Team Results:

U16 Girls (Kendrick School) – Excellent performance, finishing 5th
U16 Boys (Reading School) – 🥉Strong effort, securing Bronze (3rd place) on countback
U19 Boys (Reading School) – 🥈Outstanding performance, winning Silver, narrowly missing gold by just one set on countback

It was incredible to see Kingfisher players competing across multiple categories with such passion and skill.

What a fantastic weekend at the Mark Bates Ltd U10–13 National Championships held at Kettering Arena.

We had 8 players competing, and for 5 of them this was their very first national event 👏

This year we entered 6 teams into the Cadet British League, 3 in Cippenham and 3 in Guildford. After 4 days of competitive matches throughout the season we ended up with many medals won:

Cippenham CBL

Kingfisher A team (Vihaan, Onela, Pehej, Daniel) dominated all 4 days in division 1 playing great table tennis and brought home the gold medals! 🥇

Kingfisher B team (Pragnya, Ayansh, Owen, Jatin) battling close matches each day of the tournament and maintaining division 2 and division 3 standard even with changes of personal throughout.

Kingfisher C team (Kaavya, Rabani, Anshika, Swara, Navya, Spruha, Alexander, Charlie)
With many of the players playing up for the B team while also winning division 3 on day 2. Day 4 included one of the youngest teams we’ve entered.

Guildford CBL

Kingfisher D team (Noah Clarke, Micah, Arjun Tomar, Damian) dominated division 2 on day 3 and battled all the way into the top division on day 4 playing good quality table tennis.

Kingfisher E team (Marios, Nivaan, Arav and Matt) winning division 2 🥇. A strong team who won back to back divisions and went all the way to division 1. Day 4 they cemented the title in division 2.

Kingfisher F team (Anoop Sibia, Arjun Sibia, Theo and Vidhyuth) winning division 3 🥇. Impressively this team won their division on 3 out of the 4 days. And got the decisive gold medals on day 4.

🏓 KINGFISHER PLAYERS AT THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS​ 🏓

A huge well done to all the Kingfisher players​ - Chloe, Kaavya, Soumyajit, Prayrit & Rishaan​ who competed in the Cadet and U17 National Championships this weekend​. Just qualifying for this event is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work, commitment and dedication the players have shown throughout the year in training. Everyone represented the club brilliantly and we are very proud of their efforts. 👏

🥉 Special shoutout to Rishaan​ who had an outstanding tournament and came away with two bronze medals in the Cadet category​, beating a number of higher-seeded players along the way.

• Cadet Doubles – Bronze Medal​ with Theo Kniep (Grantham Academy), again losing in the semi-final to the eventual winners

An incredible achievement, especially as Rishaan still has another year left in the Cadet age group​. Congratulations Rishaan 👏🏓

The progress we are seeing across the squad is a reflection of the time, dedication and expertise they bring week in, week out.

Derby Domination - Kingfisher Juniors Soar to British League Glory!

Get ready to raise your bats! Our Junior Boys team have achieved an incredible feat, conquering the Junior British League (Boys) 2023/24 Championship at Derby Arena Pride Park this weekend! Their DOMINANT performance, culminating in a well-deserved gold medal, is a testament to their talent, dedication, and fighting spirit.

These young men, Prayrit Ahluwalia, Theo Kniep, Ethan Zeng, and Sahil Tekurkar, faced fierce competition from across the Home Countries throughout the tournament. But with their unwavering focus and exceptional skill, they remained undefeated, showcasing their true potential on the national stage.

This historic win is a moment of immense pride for everyone at Kingfisher Club. We applaud our champions for their remarkable achievement and can't wait to see what they accomplish in the future!

Special thanks must go to their dedicated coach, Yeqin Zeng, whose invaluable guidance and expertise played a pivotal role in their success. We also extend our gratitude to club coaches Ajay and Richard for their tireless efforts in shaping and preparing these young stars.
