🧐 8 REASONS WHY YOU GAINED WEIGHT OVERNIGHT 🤯

Overnight weight gain is very common, especially after the weekend shenanigans. 🙄

Here are 8️⃣ reasons why you gained weight overnight:👇

1️⃣ You changed your weigh-in day or time ⏰
Stop changing your weigh-in days/times. Be consistent.

2️⃣ You consumed more salt 🧂
This can be from eating more processed foods. They contain a lot of salt and that can lead to water retention.

3️⃣ You have eaten more carbs than usual 🥞
Carbohydrates hold water. For every 1g of carbs you consume, you will hold up to 3-4g of water.

4️⃣ You have water retention 💦
This can happen by NOT drinking enough water. Your body will hold on to water as it isn’t getting enough.

5️⃣ You have had a late night feed 🍔
You will have more food in your stomach. You may still have some food undigested.

6️⃣ You are stressed 😖
Stress can effect digestion and lead to more water retention.

7️⃣ You need a p**p 💩
If you haven’t been to the toilet, you’ll be heavier. If you have trouble going regularly (at least once per day) then focus on having more probiotic foods (yoghurt), fibre (veggies) and H2O (water).

8️⃣ You are on your menstrual cycle🩸
Your weight gain could solely be because of hormonal fluctuations.

Please remember that this weight gain ISN’T FAT!!!
It takes a surplus of 7,700 calories to gain 1kg (2.2lbs) of fat. 🤯

The scales aren’t always a true reflection on how well you’re progressing. Weight spikes can make you think F**K IT and turn to a higher calorie consumption. Overtime this will almost certainly lead to an increase in body fat. 😔

👩 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
(SMPT empowering women from the start) 💪

Today is International woman’s day, and I’d like to say a massive thank you to some of the strongest women I know… 💁‍♀️

🏆 Firstly, all the superwomen who bring the grind in PT and group. 🦸‍♀️

🏆 , for keeping things in order and putting up with me. 😜

🏆 To all my friends who work their 🍑 off and continue to inspire me. 💯

Lastly, my mum (.milne1)👵🏻, my sister ()👩🏻, my queen ()👸, my princess (.0)👧🏻 and the rest of my family. These women are the reason life is so good. I can’t thank you all enough. 🙏

🧑‍⚕️ THANK YOU, NHS 🙏

I’ve always known the hard work our NHS do, but it’s only when my fiancée and I spent virtually the whole of December in hospital, that we saw just how much these guys do for us. 😳

The NHS became everyone’s hero when Covid was at large. They work around the clock, putting their own health at risk to help others. Many of them I know were working 6 days a week, doing 12 hour shifts.
Fortunately, it wasn’t because of covid that we were in and out of hospital. 🦠

Pregnancy complications was our reason for being in hospital. Every week there seemed to be something different going on (Pelvic Girdle Syndrome, Cholecystitis, Gestational Diabetes and Strep 😎. Whilst going through all of this the staff made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. 🤰🏻

From the moment our boys arrived, the aftercare team on the maternity block were incredible. The boys were very premature (33 weeks and 2 days) and had to stay in Buscot for 2 weeks. Having to leave them overnight, covered in tubes and wires whilst attached to monitors was simply awful, but the care that Kate and the boys received from the Iffley Ward and Buscot was honestly something I’ll never forget. It takes a special kind of person to make someone feel so at ease and relaxed with the situation. 💯

We saw the new year in with our boys and the ladies from Buscot. As much as it is their job, over the Christmas period they gave up being with their families to take care of mine. This gave me food for thought… 🤔

SMPT want to ensure we look after our NHS, so we are giving all of their staff 25% off our services. They are real life superheroes and we are, and forever will be so grateful to have our NHS. 🦸‍♀️

💙👶🏻 OUR BABY BOYS HAVE ARRIVED 👶🏻💙

and I are very pleased to welcome our baby boys, Louie & Archie to the world. 🌎

They arrived on Boxing Day morning weighing in at 4.9lbs & 5lbs. ⚖️

They were very premature (33 weeks and 2 days), and had to stay in Buscot for 2 weeks. They have progressed fantastically and we now finally have them home. 🏡

Kate is doing extremely well with her recovery from C-Section. This woman is my absolute hero. The admiration and respect I have for her has risen tenfold. Any guy that has had to sit there and watch the person they love go through all that pain will know exactly what I mean. 💯

It was lovely to bring the boys home to meet their big sister, .x.conquer, who was waiting very patiently for 2 weeks. ⏳

Also, a massive thank you to for looking after my family in the manner they did. We always felt in good hands and safe, especially with the aftercare team (Iffley Ward & Buscot). 🏥

Now, it’s time to be the best Daddy I can be by looking after my beautiful family whilst making memories and reminiscing of what sleep was like. 😴

🚨PERFECTION DOES NOT EXIST🚨

Perfection does NOT exist, but you can always do better. Trying to better yourself everyday is a hard enough challenge, and for most is the only challenge you need to engage in. 💪

We’ve trained many people who were too focused on what others were doing, and by doing so, threw them off track. Focus on you and your goals. 💯

Here are 4 examples of simple improvements:👇

😒 You: I smoke 20 f**s a day.
🙂 Us: Try smoking only 15-18.
😒 You: If I open a bottle of wine I have to finish it.
🙂 Us: Buy smaller bottles or drink the bottle with someone.
😒 You: I can only go to the gym twice per week.
🙂 Us: Train hard and move more during your week.
😒 You: I can’t count the calories from all my foods.
🙂 Us: Focus on the macros (protein, carbs, fats).

Always remember that if you’re doing better today than you did yesterday, YOU ARE WINNING. 🏆
