🚨Update🚨
I wanted to share an update on my injury.
Yesterday, I received my MRI results. The good news is that everything is still attached to my knee. However, the MRI did not scan everything needed, as the doctors want to assess potential damage to my quadriceps higher up my leg. The next step is to wait for an appointment with the orthopedic specialist and get another MRI on my quadriceps. Unfortunately, if there’s a tear in my quadricep muscle, it might be too late for surgical repair, which is typically done within the first few months of the injury 👎🏼.
This is incredibly frustrating since I first sought medical attention back in January, and the process has been slow. Recently, a misstep caused my knee to collapse, making it feel as it did on day one of the injury and setting me back to the beginning of rehab ☹️.
I can’t afford private treatment, so I’m relying on the NHS to help me get better quickly. The injury is significantly impacting my life and work. I hope the next steps are swift so I can address this before it worsens or becomes irreparable. If it doesn’t improve, I might have to stop coaching and find a less physically demanding job ☹️.
For now, I’m focusing on recovery to get back to coaching fully 💪🏼💪🏼.
