Established on 21st April 1969, Southlake Angling Society is a thriving angling club situated in Woodley, Berkshire. The Society has three venues, catering for the specimen hunter, match and pleasure angler alike. The Society was started on the 18-acre former estate lake of Southlake in Woodley. In 1976 we took over the running of an 8-acre gravel pit in Hurst from Redlands Aggregates. This lake,

now known as Redlands, was purchased by the club in 1999. This was solely to give the Officers and Members of the Club full personal protection from the liabilities of the Club. All it means to Members is that they are liable to pay the sum of £1 in the event of the Club being wound up due to litigation. We are very proud of our fisheries. We believe we offer a superb selection giving members virtually all the sports they could wish for.

Jed Greenwood has sent over a few more of his recent catches from a couple of nights at Redlands and what an awesome selection! 🐟

The highlight of this bunch is a proper gnarly old mirror, aptly named “Blackspot”, weighing in at 26lb. Jed also added a cracking 17.5lb mirror and an 11lb Ziplin to the haul.

Some beautiful Redlands carp. Great angling, Jed! 👏🎣

Ok so update, aerator and pumps been running pretty much 24/7 since we had the D/O issue. Oxygen levels were low again this morning on the north bank when we took the readings at 5:30am. EA have come to site and are now applying hydrogen peroxide which will boost the oxygen levels for about a week. This will hopefully get us through this difficult time and we should then be ok on paddle wheels until the algae dies off hopefully slowly. PLEASE KEEP DOGS OUT THE WATER. It’s safe as it been applied in the middle but it won’t do them any good.
