☀️⚽️ South Reading Ladies Walking Football Skills Session ⚽️☀️

Despite the scorching temperatures today, our South Reading Ladies Walking Football players enjoyed a fantastic Sunday skills session at Prospect Park, expertly led by Coach Barry.

The session focused on everyone having a go in goal, practising shooting, free kicks, and defensive skills. It was great to see everyone getting involved, challenging themselves, and supporting each other throughout.

A big well done to all who took part and kept smiling in the heat! ⚽🥅👏

⚽💚💛 SOUTH READING LADIES A TEAM – LEAGUE CAMPAIGN COMPLETE! 💚💛⚽

The South Reading Ladies A Team brought their TVWFL league campaign to a close on Sunday 7th June with an excellent display of determination, teamwork and quality football throughout the day.

The ladies played some of their best football of the season, starting with a well-earned goalless draw against a physically strong Luton side. They then suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Warriors in a very evenly contested match, before coming up against the eventual league champions, Walton & Hersham, who claimed a 3-0 victory.

The highlight of the day came in a fantastic 1-0 win over a strong Watford team. A superb goal from Cara Jones proved to be the difference, earning the ladies a memorable victory against the then league leaders and dealing a significant blow to their title hopes. It was a tremendous performance full of commitment, discipline and belief from South Reading. 👏⚽⭐
The season concluded with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Fleet, with an own goal from Fleet securing the ladies a deserved final point of the campaign.

Throughout the day, the team showed great resilience, excellent teamwork and the positive spirit that has been evident all season. Their efforts were rewarded with a very respectable 4th-place finish in a competitive league.
Well done to all the players for their hard work, dedication and fantastic team spirit throughout the season. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. 💛💚👏

A special mention to Tracy Allen, who recieved a special recognition award for her strength and resilience in her continued therapy. She also put in shift on the pitch 👏🏻💯👍🏻💚💛

⚽💚💛 SOUTH READING LADIES B TEAM – LEAGUE CAMPAIGN COMPLETE! 💚💛⚽

The South Reading Ladies B Team rounded off their TVWFL league campaign on Sunday 7th June with another day full of determination, teamwork and commitment.

The ladies started brightly and played some excellent football throughout all five games, showing the teamwork and spirit that has been a hallmark of their season. Unfortunately, a few costly errors at key moments denied the team the positive results their performances deserved.
There was still plenty to celebrate, including a fantastic goal from Clare, whose long-range effort left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot! 👏⚽
At the other end, Sandie produced several impressive saves during the day, including one outstanding stop as she brilliantly pushed the ball around the post to keep her side in the game. 🧤⭐

The team also came agonisingly close to earning a positive result when they were awarded a penalty, but luck wasn't on their side this time.
Despite the results, the ladies can be proud of their efforts, commitment and progress throughout the season, finishing in 5th place overall.

Well done to all the players for their hard work, dedication and team spirit throughout the campaign. 💛💚👏

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our fantastic B Team ladies — Jane 👏

Jane is the definition of a true workhorse on the pitch. No matter the challenge, she always gives 100% every single game, training session, and minute she’s out there. Her commitment, effort, and determination never go unnoticed, and she’s the kind of player every team needs by their side.

What makes Jane even more inspiring is her incredible attitude and resilience. Despite facing health struggles, she never lets that dampen her love for the game or her desire to be part of the team. She always wants to play, always wants to contribute, and always gives everything she has for the badge. 💪⚽
Her hard work, dedication, and positive spirit are a huge example to everyone around her, both on and off the pitch. Jane’s determination and passion for football truly shine through every time she steps onto the field.
