The first incarnation of the cræft space .craefts this Beltane ✨
Once etched only in dreamscape, a hearthside vision, a flicker glimpsed on far off horizons, brought into the light under the Beltane flower moon. A collective longing for a resting place for the wandering pilgrim of hand and land, for a canvased portal to share the ancient and folk cræfts of these isles. To sit in circle with the older ways of brush, pen and pigment, rush, reed, and sedge, stone, clay and earth, knife, tree and bark. A dwelling place for dreaming, a threshold to meet myth, story, symbol and shadow, a wellspring for the waters of creativity to flow and a hearth for the Creative Fire in us all to burn.
Talamh, in Gaelic, means earth, ground, or land. Cræft is the Old English word from which craft derived. It holds a deeper meaning than just making, encompassing mind, body and soul; a wisdom of material, nature and processes as well as our vital human capacity to create. It is this understanding of craeft that the space is in service to; making as ritual, cræft as conscious and creativity as communion - with earth, hedge and field, forest, mountain and moor, sea, sky, and soil, and all that which lies beyond these realms.
The space has in itself been cræfted in offering, over many moons, deep into dark nights, the vision strung across seas, held in the hearts of those that hear it - a shapeshifting, alchemical cocreation, adorned by more and more hands along the way.
Honoured to be doing this with & .heming and deeply grateful to those that have shared their skills and helped to shape this space in a multitude of ways .ward .will .langstrumpf as well as .cannaveda & Olive for continuing to bring us together to celebrate the ever turning wheel of the year, for a magical Beltane and the space to birth the beginnings of this vision 🧡
