Evening, just to bring you all up to date as there has been many rumours around on this. Unfortunately on Friday the committee and players reached the sad decision that it was the right time for the club to fold.
The reasons being financial, player commitment, state of the machinery and availability of man power to actually run the club and the ground. Ultimately we think it is right thing to do.
We are thinking of having a club dinner with former players at some point to celebrate the good times and hope that many of our friends can join us.
It’s been amazing playing, winning and losing with some great players over the years and hope that many of us will continue at pastures new.
Thanks must go to those who have contributed to the running of the club in recent years, without you the club may have disappeared many seasons ago.

So sad to hear the awful news about our friend Dylan Walsh. An absolute legend on and off the pitch and a great friend to so many of us at the club.
You will be sorely missed.

THIS WEEKENDS MATCH REPORTS‼️

1st XI HOME TO SETTLE

Stacksteads CC First Innings- 237-9 off 45 overs
Settle CC Second Innings- 115ao off 33 overs

On Saturday at New Hall Hey, Stacksteads 1st team took a very convincing win over Settle’s 2nds winning by 122 runs, Stacksteads were chose to bat first on a wicket that played beautifully for them, The top order collapsed a bit until our man Ansar Mahmood came into bat, he put on 82 (72) 7x 4s and 6x 6s then our ex-skipper Ellis Hussey came into bat and put on 31 (37) 4x 4s and 1x 6s, our number 10 and 11 batters Max Hussey and N**s had a bit of fun to get us to the total of 237 for 9 of our 45 overs.
After the break the boys came out aiming to beat the opposition, Captain Afrus Ali was confident with the total his team set and was confident he could knock the wickets off in no time. With a few early wickets from a few of our recent guys to join the club we had Settle 9 for 4 with the boys taking wickets over the course of the innings, Ellis Hussey had the most victims with 4 Wickets from yesterday’s 2nd Innings.

2nd XI AWAY TO RIBB WANDERERS

Ribb Wanderers CC First Innings- 277-9 off 45
Stacksteads CC Second Innings- 95ao

2nd team traveled to top side ribbsdale wanderers who have been topping the table all year.

Ribbsdale started well shortly followed with an early quick 3 wickets ending up after the first 8 overs 55-3
With steady scoring the powered up to 270-9

a steady lifeless wicket offering nothing for the two stacky Frontline spinners meant that All bowler's took wickets and couldn't break down the table toppers

Stacky got off to the worst start at 0-2 leaving juniade and croney to consolidate at start up to 35-3
The team battled hard into the 90s but regular mistakes from the line up meant they were never in with a chance although a hard working 42 from juniade was the highlight of the day after an already hard graft with ball in hand taking wickets and bowling his allocation. A gallant Cameo from Liam MacIntyre at the end left him with his first red inker in his stacky career

Congratulations also to Matt Croney who took his 200th wicket for Stacksteads CC this weekend.🥳

We go again next weekend for the final games of the season, the fixtures are as follows…

Stacksteads CC 1st XI Vs Earby CC 2nd XI (HOME)
Stacksteads CC 2nd XI Vs Padiham CC 2nd XI (AWAY)
