Cup. Parkgate 1-1 Caribbean. (Pens 5-4 Parkgate) A frustrating performance from boys today because I know we are a lot better than how we played. A game of very few chances Caribbean took the lead when a ball over the top wasn’t dealt with and we were punished for it . We struggled to get into the game but with 5 mins left we got a goal out of nothing with a great ball in from Austin Woodhead was nodded back across goal by Sam Ogbiene to be put away by super sub Shaun Chiveto. We pressed for a winner but ended 1-1. Credit to the boys worked hard last 15 and found some fight which we lacked today and came away with a penalty win. All 5 pens were quality and cheeky bu**er Max Dalby put us through to next round dinking ball down the middle. Man of match captain Austin Woodhead.

Barnsley academy 0-3 Parkgate . After a very good start from the boys again playing some excellent football just seemed to brake down in the final third again and hoped our missed chances again weren’t going to bite us on the foot. After a great free kick from captain Austin Woodhead put us in the lead we seemed to go backwards with a couple of knocks forced us into making changes. A change of formation and a second goal from max Dalby seemed to settle us a bit. After a battling second half performance we added a third with Rijkaard Joseph rising highest and heading in a great goal from a great ball in from Max Dalby. Man of matches Sam da Cruz and Esmond Fonjour who I thought were both excellent today. Well done boys a proud moment for us as a group to get our first 3 points and can only get better going forward . ⚽️⚽️🤩🤩🥳🥳

Parkgate 1-2 Frickley athletic. Don’t know where to start today with result today two good teams playing good football to be ruined by one man. No ref so to be fair offered it to away team to do but they didn’t fancy it so we split it. First half two good footballing teams but we should have been in front with been best side by a couple of goals if we took our chances. Going in 0-0 at half time but should be ahead to be honest. Very frustrating second half with there ref taking centre stage. Frickley took the lead with a goal 5 yards offside to be kind probably more but we equalised straight after with Cohan rhule with a fantastic finish. In my opinion far better side after that but there ref doing his thing turned down a defo penalty and just ruined the game which to fair to there boys was a shame . Can’t put into words what happened second half but still fuming but good luck to Frickley for rest of season.

Yorkshire Acadamy u18s 1- 0 Parkgate u18s ( friendly ) great game for the neutral and in my opinion probably our best performance pre season . Only conceding to a set piece ( corner ) which was a bit harsh on the boys after such a controlled performance. Just missed that cutting edge and needed a bit of luck but that’s football. We are getting there with every game played and we played some good football so looking forward to the season to kick off this Sunday.
