ROBERT FLETCHER WINS BRITISH GC OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

ACA would like to congratulate Robert Fletcher on taking out the 2023 British GC Open. Robert defeated Reg Bamford of South Africa, 7-0 & 7-5 in the final. Robert began his Championship campaign with wins over Richard Bilton and Aston Wade of England before beating Stephen Mulliner, also of England 7-5 & 7-5 to qualify for the final.

Adding to his singles title, Robert teamed up with Englishmen Dominic Nunns to win the Doubles event. The Fletcher/Nunns combination were successful in the final over Stephen Mulliner (England) and Jenny Clarke (New Zealand) 7-6, 4-7 and 7-3.

A marvellous opportunity to give croquet a go and to support a wonderful charity! The croquet club welcomes new members at all times - what better chance to support a local club and an amazing charity. Come along on Sunday 2 July!

Come and enjoy the fun, playing Croquet at the Ramsgate Croquet Club to raise funds for the RNLI. There will be Refreshments & a Raffle to enjoy.
Tickets - £10 each are available from the RNLI Ramsgate Shop (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am-4pm), please pay by cash only.

We were delighted to invite Year 5 pupils from Christ Church Junior school to the club earlier this week. They had great fun trying out the mallets and getting to know the game. They did really well at target practice and getting the balls through the hoops. A great time was had by all and it was a real pleasure to meet such an enthusiastic group of pupils. If any other schools would be interested in coming along please just get in touch. We’d love to have you!

The weather’s improving - well, almost - and the time is right to try out this fun and tactical sport at one of the most beautiful croquet clubs in the country! No experience or special equipment required - just flat shoes and a willingness to give it a go! Come along!

Try Croquet for FREE!

From Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd May, Ramsgate Croquet Club is hosting an Open Week. Just turn up with some flat-soled footwear any time between 13:00-17:00 and see what the game is really about! Come along with friends & family, or just check it out if you're passing the club. Anyone 10 and up can play (provided there's a parent/guardian on hand). Hello there!
We are a friendly, welcoming club, situated just along from the boating pool in Ramsgate. We welcome players of all ages and abilities, and we love the fact that Croquet can be a serious competitive sport, but also a casual social occasion, a good bit of outdoor exercise, or just a bit of fun! Come and see what we're all about. If you have any questions, fire away in Messenger or WhatsApp! The club is currently open to all members, and follows Covid compliance guidance as issued by The Croquet Association and the UK Government.

Following the announcement that Kent has moved into the new Covid Tier 4, The Committee have agreed that there is no option other than to close the club for playing croquet with immediate effect

We will always try to put our member's personal safety as a priority, and so we are taking this step to avoid the possibility of any transmission of the virus through the club.

We wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas & hopefully the New Year will bring vaccinations and a chance to return to playing in the spring.
