Thanet Bowls Club Thanet Bowls Club is a Green Bowls Club welcoming bowlers of all abilities to compete in both competitive and friendly bowls matches. Coaching available.

Our Aim is to promote bowls as a healthy, fun and, (for those who want it to be), competitive sport that may be enjoyed by everyone. Whatever your age, s*x, or physical ability you will be very welcome to join us. We are based in the beautiful coastal town of Ramsgate in Kent. The clubhouse and green are excellently maintained and the green in particular is recognised as one of the very best in th

e area. Throughout the summer season we play in various local leagues, (mens, ladies and mixed), providing competition for bowlers at all levels. A few of our members bowl to high standard and compete successfully in county and national competitions. Our club competitions are also very well supported. Coaching sessions are provided by experienced and enthusiastic members who can help beginners and experienced bowlers alike to improve their game. As well as bowls we enjoy a varied social calendar including quiz nights, race nights, bingo, short mat bowls and barbeques. Non-members are welcome paying a small green fee. Bowls and shoes are available for hire. If you wish to take advantage of a rink for an hour or two you are advised to call the club in advance to ensure that match fixtures do not preclude availability of a public rink.

TBC retained the Jubilee Pairs title at the ITBA finals played on Thanet's green on the 1st September. Well done to Steve Edwards, Mike Burgess, Mike Ashley and Malcolm Boyle. Excellent bowling by all four TBC bowlers brought a very strong lead over the pairs from Dane Park who conceded the game with a few ends to play

Good performances by our men in both the Bernard Annand and the Jubilee Pairs has produced places in the finals for both competitions. GO TBC!!! Jubilee Pairs finals is on Sat 2nd Sept at Broadstairs and the Bernard Annand Finals (inc. Semi-finals) are at Herne Bay on the 3rd.

Memorial Shield Competition

After the superb league element of the Memorial Shield, which took place yesterday (Sat 22nd Apr) the final 'knockout' day will take place from 10.30 on Saturday.

The competition has been kindly sponsored by Coop Funeralcare. The finals draw will be posted at the clubhouse shortly, and on this page soon after. In the meantime, I can confirm that if you secured 3 points or more you have a place in the finals day line up.
