St James Park Bowling Club We are a small friendly Lawn Bowls Club located at Upper Saxondale. Teams are entered in three leagues and we also play friendlies. New Members Welcome.

GALA DAY - 2 TEAMS NEEDED
We still have availability for two teams of 4 players at our Annual GALA DAY on Sunday 27th July.

Our 2025 Gala Competition, will be held this year on Sunday 27th July 2025. It is competition for 4 bowlers. The full day is £60 per team, and includes lunch, tea and skilful bowling competitions. There are also cash prizes for 1st and 2nd teams

The reply slip below details the required information. Only 16 teams can be accommodated so entries will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Well the last week or so has had its ups and downs. The ups being wins for the Red and Blue teams in the Aussie Pairs league, both against West Bridgford, followed by Vale of Belvoir league wins against Radliffe and West Bridgford.
The downs were a heavy defeat in the league against Wyndam Park and a narrow defeat to Ruddington in the cup.
An enjoyable few evenings though, better than sitting in front of the TV.

Weather permitting, Tomorrow is our first Aussie pairs game of the season at home against West Bridgford starting at 2.00pm.
If this is a format you've not played or seen before, you're more than welcome to come along and see us in action.
Why not have a chat with some of the team, they might convince you to come along and give bowls a go.

St James Park v Wyndham Park.
What a difference a day makes, well two to be precise.
After the beautiful sunshine of Sunday afternoon to an evening of fine rain falling on the players throughout and getting slightly worse towards the end. However St James came out victors against a team we seldom beat. Two rinks won and two lost meant the overall score of 90 - 80 decided a game that was played in a very sporting and friendly manner so well done to all the players from both sides.

Since our last post we've had a busy time with 2 games and our club 2 woods singles competition.
Results as usual were mixed with a home defeat by Long Bennington 73-48 on a slow green but an excellent win, again at home, this time against Southwell 'B' with the team winning emphatically 105-45 with some exceptional bowling on show.
Sunday saw 16 players taking part in our annual 2 woods competition, a great afternoon of bowling in very warm conditions.

Friday's game was in the Vale of Belvoir 2 woods away at Bingham. The result was mixed with the team winning one rink and losing the other three against a strong Bingham team. The overall result was 94-73 in favour of the home team.

Well done to everyone who took part but special mention goes to Tony, Sue and Iris, who crushed their opposition with an emphatic display. Our next game is a home VoB 3 woods fixture versus Long Bennington on Wednesday 15 May starting at 6.30.
Anyone is welcome to come along to support the team.

Tonights game was in the Vale of Belvoir 2 woods away at Long Bennington. Unfortunately a reversal of last nights result with the team drawing on one rink and losing the other three, albeit by slim margins. The end result being 91-74 and a win for the home team.

Following last months friedly win at East Leake, tonight was our first league game of the season against Knipton in the Vale of Belvoir 3 woods.

Two rinks won, one drawn and one lost resulted in an overall win 72 - 50.
