So I pleased to say that today I received my certificates after being awarded my 7th Dan in Shotokan Karate by IMASA (Independent Martial Arts Sports Association).
It’s been just over 39 years since I started Karate back in June 1986.
My Karate career started at the Sheppey Karate Club under the instruction of sensei Arthur Wallace with Thames Karate.
I then trained with Sensei Steven Evans with the Karate Union of Great Britain and International Shotokan Karate Association. From there I joined the Japanese Karate Association England which gave me access to be able to train with some of the top Japanese instructors at the time. I also spent many years with Kent shotokan Karate Clubs which is run by sensei Glen Wright.
During this time I have run two very successful Karate clubs and found myself training children of children I trained in the past.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has trained at some point with me.
Here’s to many more years of Karate.
