Lift the weights see the results! 💪🏻

HOW IT STARTED ➡️ HOW IT’S GOING 💪🏼🔥

We all start somewhere — and I can relate more than you might think.

After having my children, I’d gained weight and started turning up to fitness classes with absolutely no real direction. And don’t get me wrong, classes can be a GREAT place to start — they got me moving, improved my cardio fitness, boosted my mood and, most importantly, inspired me to want to do more.

But over time I learnt where the real magic happens… lifting weights. 🏋🏼‍♀️

Building strength. Building muscle. Learning how to train with purpose and progressively challenging my body.

That didn’t happen overnight.

Rome wasn’t built in a day… and neither are strong bodies. 💪🏼

Start where you are. Get moving. Learn as you go. Keep showing up.

The work takes time — but f**k me, it’s worth it. 💜

MY TOP 6 THINGS THAT TRANSFORMED MY BODY 💪🏼

And spoiler… none of them involved starving myself, living on a treadmill or finding some magical 30-day transformation plan 🙃. 1️⃣ I STARTED LIFTING HEAVY S**T 🏋🏼‍♀️
And stopped believing lifting weights would make me “bulky”.
Turns out building muscle is actually quite f**king difficult. Who knew. 😂. 2️⃣ I STOPPED BEING SCARED OF FOOD 🍝
I learnt to fuel my body instead of constantly trying to eat as little as possible. Protein, carbs, fats — ALL have a place. 3️⃣ I WALKED. A LOT. 🚶🏼‍♀️
Steps are the boring bastard nobody wants to hear about because they’re free, simple and don’t require some influencer screaming at you.
But they WORK. 4️⃣ I STOPPED EXPECTING QUICK RESULTS ⏳
This took YEARS, not weeks. Bodies take time to build. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are strong bodies. 5️⃣ I GOT CONSISTENT 🎯
Not perfect. CONSISTENT.
I’ve eaten cake. I’ve drunk alcohol. I’ve missed sessions. I’ve had weeks where I couldn’t be arsed.

But I never turned one off-plan meal into a 6-week “f**k it, I’ll start Monday” tour. 6️⃣ I LEARNT TO ACTUALLY ENJOY TRAINING 🫶🏼
This was probably the biggest one. Training stopped being something I did because I hated my body and became something I did because I f**king LOVE what my body can do.

And that’s the bit I want people to understand…

You don’t need to change everything overnight. Start somewhere.
Learn.
Lift.
Eat well.
Move your arse.
Stay consistent.

Then give yourself TIME. You cannot spend 10 years treating your body like a skip and then get pi**ed off because you don’t look like a fitness model after 3 Tuesdays at the gym. 😂

Because the boring basics, repeated for long enough, really do change everything. 💜

No classes from me tonight whilst your all enjoying the bank holiday but I’ll be back for the rest of the week with a load more of this fun s**t 💩! Get yourselves booked on for the final few spaces of the week!

FUNCTIONAL FAVOURITES 🔥

A few of my go-to functional moves that earn their place in my training again and again 💪🏼

Strong. Powerful. Athletic. And most importantly — actually useful.

And if you don’t have a SkiErg? 👀
Cable pulls are such a good variation. Same idea, similar movement pattern, and a great way to work that pull, core and conditioning without needing the actual machine.

Functional training doesn’t need to be complicated or fancy — use what you’ve got and make it WORK.

Save this one for your next functional session 🔖

What’s one functional move you’d NEVER leave out? 👇🏼

You don’t need more motivation. You might just need a bloody plan. 👀

Starting a fitness journey can feel overwhelming.

Walk into a gym and suddenly everyone looks like they know exactly what they’re doing.

Meanwhile you’re thinking…

What exercises should I do?
How heavy should I lift?
How many reps?
How often should I train?
Do I need cardio?
Why is that person walking backwards on a treadmill?! 😂

So you save 47 workouts from Instagram.

Try a random leg day from TikTok.

Do whatever machine happens to be free.

Get absolutely battered for two weeks.

See very little progress.

Then assume you’re the problem.

You’re probably not.

You just don’t have any direction.

And THIS is where a good Personal Trainer can make a massive difference.

Not by shouting at you.

Not by destroying you every session.

And definitely not by making you do burpees until you see Jesus. 😂

A PT should help you understand what you’re doing and WHY you’re doing it.

Your training should be built around:

👉 Your current fitness level
👉 Your goals
👉 Your lifestyle
👉 Your available time
👉 Your confidence and experience
👉 And most importantly… something you can actually stick to.

Because the goal isn’t to need a PT forever.

The goal is to build your confidence.

Teach you how to train properly.

Help you progress.

And eventually have you walking into the gym knowing exactly what the f**k you’re doing. 💪

You don’t need the perfect fitness plan.

You need the right starting point and some direction.

And sometimes investing in a Personal Trainer at the beginning can save you months of guessing, stopping, restarting and wondering why nothing is changing.

Train smarter. Build confidence. Learn your s**t. Then go smash it. 🔥

If you’re ready to start your fitness journey but haven’t got a clue where to begin…

SUNDAY SHOUT OUT 🖤 — TASH

Not every transformation is a weight loss journey. There are so many aspects to personal training, and this transformation has a very special place in my heart! 🥹🖤

In November of last year, Tash suffered an Acute Crisis after suddenly losing total feeling in both of her legs. She was hospitalised and gradually after some time, the feeling in her legs started to return, but she was left with ongoing neurological symptoms causing nerve pain in her left side that greatly affected her mobility and movement. There were often days where all she could manage was slowly walking a few steps before she was wiped out and experiencing a flare up of her pain. In January…

Tash walked into DUFFIT HQ.

It was clear how much pain she was in. Her mobility was completely different to the Tash I’d known previously.

Tash had been used to being strong, fit and able, so we stripped everything right back to basics. Super light, super steady and we started to rebuild.

First movement. Then mobility. Then gradually… strength. 💪

Every session was adapted to what her body could manage. There were flare-ups where we’d strip things back and adjust again, but Tash was patient and determined. We listened to her body and made training work FOR her, not against her.

Fast forward 8 months and WOW. 🥹

Tash has just returned from a much-needed family holiday, completing activities that even four months ago might not have felt possible.

I am SO bloody proud of the work she’s put in. She’s done the boring stuff that built the foundations and the hard stuff when it got tough.

She’s now back attending gym sessions, riding her bike and continuing to build strength.

Next stop… RUNNING. 🏃‍♀️

We’re going to start building towards that first run, and I plan on being right there with her for every step. 🖤

Tash, being part of your journey has been an utter joy and a real reflection of why I f**king love my job.

Transformations aren’t always measured by scales, inches or before-and-after photos.

Sometimes they’re measured in movement regained, strength rebuilt, confidence returning and getting pieces of your life back.

What a bloody comeback. 👏🔥
