Hey!!
We are looking to bring back TUFF Kumite for another spin (for real this time!), similar to the one we put on where Oliver Taza won. This time however we are looking to raise some money for one our friends and students Gary Hawkins.
The story of Gary is as follows... Gary has been a major supporter of our MMA and BJJ shows and is also one of our students at CSA. Gary has been suffering with MS for a number of years and through sheer determination has broken through many obstacles that doctors have told him that he couldn’t do. Last year, Gary competed at the South East Open although he was told he could never do BJJ. Gary’s nutrition expertise was picked up by the NHS and Gary shared his knowledge to other people suffering with MS. Unfortunately in May this year, Gary was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer. The NHS have so far refused to treat Gary and sent him home. Gary and his family have found private care that will greatly prolong his life but need to raise money.
We are looking for sponsors for the event that will contribute directly to Gary and a prize fund to the winning competitor. We will be putting your banner up on the side of the mat area and will be streaming the event live on Facebook. We received a lot of views from our last kumite, in excess of 60k.
Once we can confirm the amount of sponsors we will start recruiting the right calibre of fighters.
