Goals - Oj

On Saturday we went to Chester le street to take on promotion/ pushing for the league Hilda park. Really good organised team which is why they are up at the top of the league, but Prudhoe absolutely matched them today, if not was the better team. Prudhoe went behind 1st but we pulled it back through OJ as he slotted his pen away and then Alfie Popov got us ahead in the game with a nice solo effort. Then Hilda started to push again and got the equaliser. Prudhoe didn’t give up and pushed Hilda back causing them lots of trouble and Joe managed to get the last touch to make it 3-2. We looked really comfortable throughout the game but they pushed there centre half forward which caused a few problems. Got the equaliser then got done by a dodgy referee decision which made it 4-3. Prudhoe felt really hard done by as we were the better team on the day and proved we can match the promotion looking teams.

Man of match: was given to all 11 players as they battled all away through to the final whistle, in what was the hottest day of the year with no subs.

Well done lads

Sunderland FOL 0
Prudhoe Falcons 0

A frustrating day for the lads as they did everything but score. Chances came left, right and centre and if one had gone in, it could have snowballed to 7 or 8.

The defence was solid throughout, meaning Riley had a quiet morning in the rain and didn’t really have any saves to make.

With 2 games left to play and points still up for grabs, we’ll get back on the training pitch for some shooting practice and look to be more clinical in front of goal.

MOTM ⭐
Matthew Paisley – in what was his best game of the season, he constantly asked questions of their full-back while also putting in a strong defensive shift.

Prudhoe Falcons 4
Hebburn Barca 1

After what has felt like a tough season, the lads showed great character to battle hard and secure a well-deserved win — one that’s been a long time coming.

Despite going behind early on, the team responded brilliantly. Ollie made a smart run in behind the defence to grab the equaliser, settling any nerves.

Just before halftime, Jake found the net to give the Falcons a crucial lead going into the break.
In the second half, the team continued to push on, with everyone putting in a fantastic performance.

Riley was outstanding in goal, pulling off some critical saves to keep us ahead and earning a well-deserved Man of the Match.

However, the real story of the day belongs to Josh Day. Having been a key part of the squad through thick and thin over the years, Josh marked his final game in junior football in style, scoring twice to secure the three points. A fitting send-off as he moves on to new challenges.

Everyone at the Falcons wishes Josh the very best of luck for the future — go smash it!

Match Report: Sunderland City Jrs 2 – 0 Prudhoe Falcons

A tough result for the lads today, but let’s not be too hard on ourselves. The team were asked to try a new formation on a big pitch, lining up in a 3-5-2, and there were plenty of positives to take from the game.

The back three were solid and adapted well, while the wing-backs worked tirelessly and carried out everything that was asked of them.

The team battled throughout, created chances, and competed well. We were caught late in the first half when, the first time the home side entered our box, they scored against the run of play.

The lads kept trying and never stopped battling, but with a run of difficult results, confidence is a little low in the camp at the moment, and City went on to score a second.

On another day, with the wind in our sails, we win that game comfortably. Unfortunately, when confidence is low, the ball just doesn’t bounce your way.

With games coming thick and fast, hopefully we can turn the corner and finish the season strongly.

Match Report: Crook 5 – 1 Prudhoe

A tough afternoon for the Falcons, who fell behind early after a sloppy opening goal. Despite the setback, the lads responded well, working hard and playing some lovely football throughout the game.

Unfortunately, Crook doubled their lead, but Prudhoe showed great character and continued trying to play their way back into the match. Their efforts were rewarded when Josh found the net to make it 2–1 and give the Falcons hope.

However, they were unable to build on that momentum, and a strong centre-forward display from the home side helped Crook pull away with a few more tidy finishes to seal a 5–1 victory.

On another day, the lads could have taken something from the game, as the scoreline didn’t fully reflect the contest. Confidence may be a little low at the moment, but they’ll be hoping to bounce back on the road next week.

Match Report
Blackfyne 3 – Falcons 1
A strong first half saw us take the lead through a great turn and finish from Jake. Unfortunately, the game shifted in the second half as we faced into a tough wind, allowing Blackfyne to build momentum, equalise, and then take the lead.
At the drinks break, we asked the lads to dig in and apply pressure. To their credit, they responded well despite the conditions and began to turn the screw themselves. However, the game’s key moment came when Jake was forced off with an injury following a poor challenge, with the defender somehow remaining on the pitch.
Pushing for an equaliser late on left us exposed, and Blackfyne added a third to seal the result.
Despite everything, the lads showed great character by not getting drawn into the surrounding behaviour and demonstrated real class throughout.
Keep going, boys — the wins will come.

Match Report
Prudhoe Falcons 1 – 3 NE Sports Gunners
A game of two halves for the Falcons this weekend.
Prudhoe flew out of the blocks and on another day could easily have found themselves three goals to the good. A series of missed chances proved costly, and against the run of play the Gunners capitalised to take a 0–1 lead into half-time.
NESG returned after the break with a few tactical tweaks in midfield and, as legs began to tire, Prudhoe conceded a second from a sloppy moment. The lads showed great character and continued to push forward, and with five minutes remaining Jake found the net to pull one back and set up a tense finish.
Chasing the equaliser and committing players forward, the Gunners took advantage of the space left behind and added a third to seal the result.
Plenty of positives to take — the team battled throughout and arguably deserved more from the game. Despite missing the captain and the heart of the defence, the back line were outstanding in their first game together and rightly share the Man of the Match award.

Match Report
Prudhoe Falcons 1 – 2 Blackfyne FC
It was a tough one to take for the hosts as Prudhoe found themselves 1–0 down after a well-delivered cross was met with a firm header to give the visitors the lead.
The response, however, was excellent. Just before the break, Josh delivered a superb floated corner into the box and Jake duly rose highest to power home a header, bringing the sides level heading into half-time.
After the restart, Blackfyne began to apply more pressure and eventually made it count. A driving run into the box led to a penalty after a challenge to block the shot. The spot kick was calmly slotted into the bottom corner, giving Riley no chance.
Prudhoe pushed hard in the closing stages and showed real determination, but despite late pressure, it proved too little too late.

The Falcons will look to respond next week. On together💪🏻

Match report
Prudhoe Falcons u13s 3
Deerness valley 1

It was a tough, hard-fought encounter for the Falcons as they took on Deerness Valley, with passion running high on both sides from the first whistle.
Jake led the way with two clinical finishes, both coming from a stream of quality deliveries out wide from Ollie. The visitors did manage to pull one back and applied some late pressure, but Joe sealed the result to complete a deserved home-and-away double over Deerness.
It was a gutsy performance right across the pitch, with commitment and work rate on show throughout. Key moments from Charlie, Jake, and Riley stood out, and the trio rightly share the honour of Man of the Match this week.
Attention now turns to Blackfyne next week, as the Falcons look to build on this momentum and keep the run going.

Hi Everyone

The club has paid for the 3g last week and today and thats brilliant but i think it's fair to say they can't continue to do this.

The rain has been relentless so we are going to do a football card to help fund anymore we may need.

We've got this signed Malik Thiaw shirt ready to go it's £10 a square if everyone could get involved sharing it's just 4 squers to help shift each.

Michael has got some stuff coming up as well!

Please add your name and what it's for in reference so Holli Elizabeth Hudspith knows what it's for thanks and good luck !

Prudhoe Falcons 0 – 0 Sunderland City Juniors

After a long lay-off due to the weather, it was good to finally get a game played. Match fitness and adapting to a full adult-sized pitch proved a challenge for both sides.
It was a closely contested game, with neither team giving anything away.

Chances were limited, but it always felt like one goal could have been enough to take all three points. In the end, it wasn’t to be, and a draw was a fair result.

Well done to both sets of players for their commitment and effort throughout.
