The rain stayed away, and that's a good start for me for training tonight.

The first drill was playing through gates and going 1 on 1 to win the ball, and play back through the gates. This drill proved tricky at times, so moved onto 2v2 before moving to the 2nd drill to defending the square.

The aim, to get the ball into square, but 4 defenders were there to stop the attackers. This drill proved more popular with alot of movement and more voices being heard!

We then moved onto a game with some excellent play and moves.

Alf voted for AP as trainer of the week for his efforts!

⚽️⚽️ End of Season Celebrations ⚽️⚽️

We came together as Team Milan yesterday to celebrate all things fantastic about our Team.

This season has been a good one, despite the 2 month wait in the middle, waiting for the rain to stop. The start of the season saw us off to a good start, netting ourselves a couple of wins, and suffering a few defeats against a team that would go onto win several league cups. We then had the misery of the rain, but we kept going with several 5 a side sessions, to keep us ticking over, until the games got going again in February.

From February I saw a change in our team. The lads went into games with a different mindset approach, you could see and feel the want to fight and win games. They were chasing down second balls, fighting to regain possession, looking after each other as a team. Something just clicked...... and this is what will carry us into the new season, along with some new members of the team.

We had a great weekend in Blackpool, the weather was 50/50, but that didn't stop us having a great time, and netting some fantastic results.

Ollie, Luke, Alf, Alfie C, Ethan, Jack, Max, Harry, Will, Ethan O, AP, Ethan H! You have done yourselves proud this season, take a bow 🙇‍♀️ 🖤♥️ We didn't have coaches player of the season trophies, because for me, they all were my players of the season!

We welcome to the team Max. Max has played one friendly already, and he is tough player, and will be a great asset to the team. We also welcome Rory, who has been joining us for training, and can see he will be a excellent addition to our team.

Here at Team Milan we really do have a great bunch of lads and parents. And that's what grassroots football should be about. A fantastic set of people, willing on their lads to do their best in games, the lads being allowed to enjoy their football, and coming away with a good result.

We have a tournament coming up, and a few friendlies lined up, to get us match ready for the new season in September.

Super Saturday End of Season Celebrations.

We have had a great afternoon at Whickham Thorns celebrating the end of our football seasons.

The team tried new activities and really supported each other with new challenges.

We are resting for a few hours then heading out again tonight for our End of Season Presentation at The Tavern in Prudhoe.

Here at Milan, the weather doesn't stop us!

The rain did do its upmost best, to try and stop us, but it didnt! We cracked on cos' were Team Milan ❤️🖤

We started off the session with some warm ups, followed by a drill that would keep everyone moving and warm.

From the back line a set of 1-2's, laying off numerous passes to line up and shoot on goal. This involved 4 players, continually rotating. Harry took up position in goal, and did well in the rainy conditions.

2nd drill was the good old, Attackers V Defenders, before moving onto a shortened game, so that everyone could get home sharp to get warmed up.

All the lads did well, considering the conditions, but Ollie earned Trainer of the Week, working on his movements outside of goal.

This weekend sees Team Milan join together to celebrate the excellent season we have had in 2025/26. The lads are off to Whickham Thorns for an activity day, followed by a night at the Tavern.

Touch wood, the sun will shine for us. 🤞🏻🌞🎉

Tonight was a Happy Training Night.

Light hearted but, an excellent fast paced drill to keep everyone on the boil.

Playing in pairs, drive up the pitch with 1-2's, playing through the channels and lining up their partner for a shot on target.

We then did our usual, attackers versus defenders, whilst using the time to practise playing out from goal.

We wrapped up the night with a game, and AP was looking for a hatrick! Nearly but so close, Roefs-wannabe was on hand to clear it off the line!

Training was glorious tonight! If training could be this warm every week.

Just imagine, High School in January in t-shirts and shorts!

We can dream..... 🤣

Anyway, back to training, and practising playing out from the back. We'll keep at it each week, as its definitely an element of play we need to work on.

Pass and shoot drill was also on the cards, followed by a game!

You may remember Co-Op Funeral care in Prudhoe donated £250 to the team. Well I bought these beauties (a pair) of goals obviously 🤣

Hopefully they'll come in useful in Winter if we get 9v9 lines painted up at the high school 😜

⚽️Tonight was a return to training after our amazing weekend in Blackpool!

🌧It looked it was going to rain, but it held off and we enjoyed a dry session.

⚽️Firstly, practising kick outs from goal using wingers, to progress down the channels.

⚽️We then progressed to a 2 v 2 attackers, then dropping into defenders, and so on. This drill is a tough one, constantly running, with only a breather once you are ready to go again as an attacker.

⚽️We then finished the session off with a game. One that proved difficult for me to stay on my feet (damp ground) 🤣

🏆Previous trainer of the week Luke, voted Alf as this week winner for his hard work and effort.

We came, we saw the tower, we conquered the arcades, we played our hearts out, and loved every minute of it!
